"Shake, Rattle, And Roll"
Misheard Lyrics: Shake Riley roll
Original Lyrics: Shake rattle and roll
|
Story about this misheard lyric by: Bob Alinkofsky Many years after this song, I used to shoot dice with Riley. Now I knew the actual lyrics, but I couldn't help it this time. I start singing Shake Riley Roll{with some serious money on the line} as Riley shakes em. Wouldn't you know it? 'Craps', yells Riley. 'You Lose'. |
"Shake Rattle and Roll"
The Dirty Lyrics: I'm like a one eyed cat peeping in a seafood store
Why They're Dirty: Perhaps a reference to a Peeping Tom looking in a bathroom or bedroom window? Or maybe a brothel?

The Dirty Lyrics: I'm like a one eyed cat peeping in a seafood store
Why They're Dirty: Bill Haley's version is supposedly a cleaned up version of Big Joe Turner's classic, but he was able to use this line, which in my mind is probably one of the greatest double entendres ever written in a rock and roll song. The one eyed cat refers to the male organ and the seafood store refers to the female organ.
