Band Name Origins:
- It is not "God What an Awful Racket" as explained in many interviews with Dave Brockie. The original name of the band was something like "GGGGGWWWWWWWWAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH". A sort of primal scream. They later realized that this name would not work in the long run for obvious reasons. It was shortened to "GWAR". Any other explanations for the origin of the name are fan speculation and rumors promoted by the band themselves. Submitted by: Dustin
