"Misery Business"
The Dirty Lyrics: Whoa, I never meant to brag
But I got him where I wanted him now Whoa, it was never my intention to brag To steal it all away from you now But God it just feels so good 'Cause I got him where I wanted him now And if you could then you know you would 'Cause God it just feels sooo good. Why They're Dirty: The whole chorus sounds like she's talking about having mindblowing sex with someone's boyfriend and then throwing it back in the poor girl's face. Hence the "I got him where I wanted him" and, above all, the "God, it just feels sooo good".

"Rose-Colored Boy (2010s)"
The Lyrics: Just let me cry a little bit longer
I ain't gon' smile if I don't want to Hey man, we all can't be like you I wish we were all rose-colored too My rose-colored boy Why: The song is about lead singer Hayley Williams' pessimism towards life. The hook illustrates that after faking happiness for such a long time, she can't hold it in anymore and gives into her emotions. A lot of the songs on After Laughter have this concept and could go with this theme of "upbeat yet depressing" as well.
