"Pieces Of April"
The Funny Lyrics: I've got pieces of April
It's a morning in May. Why They're Funny: Gee, it sounds like Jack The Ripper at the Indy 500.

"Joy to the World"
The Repetitive Lyrics: Joy to the world
All the boys and girls Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea Joy to you and me Why They're Repetitive: Wake me up when it's over!
Submitted by: Glenn
| "Celebrate"
The Repetitive Lyrics: Celebrate celebrate
Dance to the music Why They're Repetitive: This part is sung over and over and it's almost the entire song. A lot of other 3 Dog Night songs are almost as repetitive, like 'One' and 'Joy to The World.'

"Never Been To Spain"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: I've never been to heaven, but I've been to Oklahoma.
They tell me I was born there, but I really don't remember. Why They're Nonsensical: Of course you can't remember being born. I don't think anyone can. However, if he means that he really doesn't remember anyone telling him that he was born in a specified place, then that's a bit confusing.

| "Joy To The World"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: Jeremiah was a bull frog
Was a good friend of mine I never understood a single word he said But I helped him a-drink his wine And he always had some mighty fine wine Why They're Nonsensical: A frog with a stash of wine? Where did they come up with that (keeping in mind that this song came out decades before a certain other alcoholic beverage used frogs in their commercials)?

"Never Been To Spain"
The Lyrics: Well I never been to Spain But I kinda like the music Say the ladies are insane there And they sure know how to use it They don't abuse it Never gonna lose it I can't refuse it
Well I never been to England But I kinda like the Beatles Well I headed for Las Vegas Only made it out to Needles Can you feel it It must be real Feels so good Oh, feels so good Well I never been to heaven But I been to Oklahoma Well they tell me I was born there But I really don't remember In Oklahoma, not Arizona What does it matter What does it matter Why: Three Dog Night's "Never Been To Spain" was a 1971 #3 hit. It was their immediate follow-up to the #1 hit, "Joy To The World". In the song are shoutouts to the following real places: Spain, England, Las Vegas, Needles (a city in California), Oklahoma and Arizona. The song was written by Hoyt Axton.
