Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Aint nothin' that a hundred men on Mars could ever do.
Aint nothin' that a hundred men or more could ever do.
The Story: When my son was 5, he started really trying to sing along whenever the radio was playing, usually in the car. This song played one day while we were driving, and a few hours later at home, he asked me what they meant and if there really are men on Mars! I let him think for a few years that that was what they were singing just because it was cute. He's 10 now, and I've filled him in on the real lyrics so now we have a good laugh about it whenever we hear it. - Submitted by: Mary

Asia's,
"Heat of the Moment"
And it was the hero of the moment.
Telling me what my heart mine.
The hero of the moment should in your eyes.
I never find yourself in '22.
The disco hot for souls to sons for you.
It was the heat of the moment.
Telling me what your heart meant.
The heat of the moment shone in your eyes.
And now you find yourself in '82.
The disco hot spots hold no charm for you.
The Story: And finally, I was lucky. Because, tonight Golden Earring taking my time. So, it giving to "Heat of the Moment". "Heat of the Moment" was played during the time of Golden Earring. The first time ever I hear this song was around two years ago when I was listening to the radio. I hear this song but just half of its length because I want to hear a program that playing rock songs not too late. However, I don't know who singing this song. When I googling the band's name and the song "Heat of the Moment", I found sources that refer to this song and the band's name who singing. When I adding this song into my playlist and later I hear this song over and over again, this is the song, "Heat of the Moment". It sounding like a little bit of The Beatles' harmony, a little bit of King Crimson's progression, and a little bit of Foreigner's music. For the lyrical content, how John Wetton find his hero at that moment? Also, during the second verse, John Wetton mistakenly singing "'22". However, the correct lyrics is "'82". '22 can be refer to 1922. But, in 1922, "Heat of the Moment" was not happens released until 60 years long in 1982. About this song: Foreigner, at that time, creating a music to make REO Speedwagon, Golden Earring, Journey, Survivor, Boston, Heart, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, Bon Jovi, Europe, Roxette, Giant, Chicago, Bad English, Alias, and other bands sounding like Foreigner. During the rise of Foreigner, a band that formed by John Wetton and friends starting their music. They released their debut studio album that released in 1982 and "Heat of the Moment" was selected as track #1 on that album. It was written by John Wetton and Geoff Downes. "Heat of the Moment" was their major hit to date with reaching #4 on Billboard's Pop Chart and #7 on Germany chart. These charts are faring better for this song. However, on the UK Singles Chart, this pop rock song was just reaching #46 when new wave songs at that time keep reaching the highest position until early 1990s when grunge, Britpop, and hip hop, finally reaching the highest position to make future new wave songs reaching the lowest position. The eponymous album itself was also entering them into one-hit wonder fame with topping Billboard's Pop Albums Chart, reaching #11 on the UK Albums Chart, and also charting well on other albums charts internationally. Before this band that inspired by art rock and AOR music was formed, guitarist Steve Howe and keyboardist Geoff Downes are previously been members of Yes while vocalist and bassist John Wetton was previously been a member of King Crimson. - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
