Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

The Story: This was playing from a shop I was passing. I recognized Chingy's voice and thought, 'Oh no, not another pointless song', which was further enforced upon hearing the stand-to-reason chorus (that I misheard thanks to Chingy and J-Weav fighting over one another practically during it). Well, who doesn't wash all over them when they bathe? Did the singer want a medal? Since I didn't know what the song was called until later (not to mention the actual words), I didn't think better. - Submitted by: Missy Bass

The Story: Well the song came on before school, and my little sister loves Chingy. But she gets lots of lyrics wrong. Anyways, she was singing the wrong lyrics at the top of her lungs trying to be cool and all. I heard hear and told her, 'no' those are not the words, look off of your Chingy cd case and tell me the song isn't called Right Thurr. She looked and then on the next chorus she kept on singing the wrong words. She insisted she was right. All along she thought the song was about being cold, like brrr!!!! - Submitted by: J Ashford
