Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).
By the way, by the way, you do things to my body.
I didn't know that I was starving till I tasted you.

The Story: An earlier version of this song performed by herself with Zedd and Grey featuring Zedd playing DJ instrument in every chorus. But, if I listen to this song, it was like just performed by herself without help from Zedd and Grey with Zedd's sound was replaced with the sound of a guitar solo follow the lyrics of the song and the lyrics are less explicit and guitar solo also be heard in the intro and coda. With this song, a sign that new wave (a genre that combines pop music, rock music, and instant instrument as it was played in this song) rise again and this is not just done by herself, but also descendants or it could be born after herself. Also, the difference between the genre of music played by Shawn Mendes on his second album, a sign that his future album like third, fourth, and so on will be influenced by pop metal, also genre was followed by new artists, artists who were born after Shawn Mendes, young artists, and academic artists like The Darkness. It feels like I living back in the 1980s. Although previous Seattle alternative hard rock bands like Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, and Foo Fighters already exists in the 1990s, Nirvana successfully end both these genres with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and its surrealist music video. And later who's newcomer Seattle artists that will end new wave and pop metal again? - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
