Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

I wonder if I take you home
Would you mistook it for love, baby?
I wonder if I take you home
Would you still be in love, baby?
The Story: I thought the lyrics were about a girl who wanted to fool around with a guy at her house and didn't want him to think the sex meant anything serious between them. I totally got it backwards! - Submitted by: Jill Donner
Would you still be alone, baby?

Kassarah, Kassarah

Lost in motion
Kay say rock, kay say rock
Lost in emotion
Que sera, que sera.
The Story: I've been hearing this song ever since I was a little kid, and it was only a few years ago that I found out that the title was 'Lost in Emotion' and *not* 'Motion'. I always thought it meant getting caught up in dancing to the music. I first realized the the other line was 'Que sera' after getting a little older and learning some Spanish before I got the chance to listen to the song again. I can't believe that I thought it was 'Kay say rock'! Oh well..... - Submitted by: Lady Daydreamer
Kiss our ass, kiss our ass
Que sera, que sera
The Story: "Que sera" meaning "Whatever will be" in Spanish and French - Submitted by: Cody Finke
Lost in the ocean
Lost in emotion
The Story: I only heard this song a few times but there was this guy named Ed who played bass in a band of mine and his girlfriend would sing along with this song and sang "Lost in the ocean" and that was all. For years I thought the song really was "Lost in the Ocean" - Submitted by: David Leggett
