Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Burn my foose.
Turn me loose.
The Story: I had earphones on, singing this song out loud. My wife heard me sing this twice. I have no idea what a "foose" is or why you'd want to burn it. - Submitted by: Scoop

The Story: A Canadian rock group that formed in 1979 in Calgary, Alberta. The group's original lineup was Mike Reno on lead vocals, Paul Dean on guitar, Doug Johnson on keyboards, Scott Smith on bass, and Matt Frenette on drums. About this song: They wrote this pop rock song in a café. The synthesizer was playing obscured by a electric guitar and make this song is more dynamic. Why they playing synthesizer? Because, in the 1980s, it is the new wave era and they morely playing synthesizer rather than guitar. When they live in Bali, Indonesia, no one knows that they live there. Listeners think that the band who live there was a non-notable band, but this is Mike Reno's band. "Working for the Weekend" was found on the album 'Get Lucky'. Although the single peaking at #29 on Billboard's Pop Chart, the single was a classic rock staple and their greatest hit in their history. It also the most playing song on radio stations and became listeners' favorite songs of all time and featured many times on many list of greatest songs and also including on Rock Channel's "Top Pop Songs of All Time". There are similarity between Scott Smith with The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger. While both are similar in shape or face, but Scott Smith was passed away before in 2000. - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
