Fortunately, Ashley, who fame with "It's Alright, It's OK", this time is not to come for unknown reason. I will thank you to Johnny for requesting "MacArthur Park" including here. For the lyrical content of "MacArthur Park", it sounding like that Richard will singing this song without his lover instead of he will be thinking of her. About this song: Richard was known uncontroller when he was drinking black water instead of white water that make it more fresh and clean. The story of "MacArthur Park" before Richard version popular in 1968 began with the composer of this song Jimmy Webb's failure relationship with Susie Horton. Jimmy initially help from "Windy" fame The Association to recorded "MacArthur Park", but the group rejected it. The title of this song come from a park in L.A. where the two enjoying their summer in MacArthur Park. At that time (the middle of 1965), Susie worked for a life insurance company whose offices were located just across the street from the park. The idea to write and compose a classically structured song with several movements that could be played on the radio came from a challenge by music producer Bones Howe, who produced recordings for The Association. The song begins as a poem about love, then moves into a lover's lament. The song consists of four sections or movements: A mid-tempo introduction and opening section, a slow tempo and quiet section follows, an up-tempo instrumental section (sometimes if I creating a version of this song with 18 minutes long instrumental section to make rock and pop radio stations fit to playing this lengthly song, it would be rival to Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" or Rare Earth's "Get Ready" or sometimes more lengthly again like Metallica's "One" or Outlaws' "Green Grass & High Tides"), and a mid-tempo reprise of the first section. It also make progressive rock stars like Yes, Genesis, and The Moody Blues influenced by "MacArthur Park". Originally recorded for The Association, whose members rejected it because they're fear with its length, complex structure, and unorthodox lyrics that make listeners get boring and will close their ears. The last chance for Jimmy was giving to Richard for his pop music debut with "MacArthur Park". "MacArthur Park" is track #10 on Richard's debut studio album, "A Tramp Shining", released in 1968 and selected for release as a single in April 1968, an unusual choice, given the song's length (lasting at 7 minutes and 30 seconds and at least 28 minutes with several seconds silence for my remix version that I made) and complex structure. The result of this reason was a major hit for Richard with reaching the Top 10 on Australia chart, Canada chart (both were topping on these charts), Ireland chart (#9), the UK Singles Chart (#4), and Billboard's Pop Chart (#2). It has been covered by Waylon Jennings, Donna Summer, Four Tops, and Andy Williams. Listeners think that at the time who singing "MacArthur Park" originally was Andy Williams, but actually Richard was the first artist who singing "MacArthur Park".
