The Story: I met Tommy James, who wrote this song and asked him about the correct lyric. He mentioned that 'femme jolie' is French for 'pretty girl'. And yes, he recorded this song originally with the Shondells (for their 'Crimson and Clover' lp), but the Clique had the hit with Tommy producing. - Submitted by: Mark Speck
