Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Come on, teach me Bradley.
Come on, leave me breathless.
The Story: I was babysitting a supremely cute seven year old, and heard her belting this out at full volume - I nearly fell off my chair. - Submitted by: Sarah
Go on, go on, Wheaties breakfast
Go on, go on, leave me breathless
The Story: Sounded like this was a song about Wheaties. - Submitted by: Cody Finke
Go on, leave me, Bradley.
Go on, leave me breathless.
The Story: Obviosuly I thought that this song was about a man named Bradley leaving his lover. My friend kindly corrected me after the radio broke mid-chorus. - Submitted by: *Emma Williams*
Gohan, Gohan, come on, make me breakfast
Tempt me, tease me, till I can't deny this
oj, fresh squeezed, make me long for pancakes
Go on, go on, come on, leave me breathless
Temp me, tease me, till I can't deny this
Lovin' feeling, make me long for your kiss
The Story: Gohan, aside from being a character on Dragon Ball Z and gt, is the Japanese word for lunch *grin*. The first time my family heard the song in the car, my mother almost ran off the road laughing so hard... it actually does sound like 'Gohan' if you're not paying attention. - Submitted by: Nira no Kamo
Precious
Breathless
The Story: I knew the lyrics 'leave me breathless', but somewhere near the end of the song they were just saying the word breathless quietly in the background and it was a little unclear. The reason it struck me as funny is that I have a pet rabbit named Precious, so 'Leave me Precious' would have several different meanings for me. - Submitted by: Star Cat
Forgiven, Nosferatu
Forgiven, not forgotten
The Story: Heard this at a Goodwill and three other people heard what I did - Submitted by: Jamie
Give me a raisin
Give me a reason
The Story: I kept mishearing "reason" as "raisin". - Submitted by: Cody Finke
With a full glass and an empty car
With a full glass and an empty heart
The Story: Okay, so who needs to hear about a car being empty? More like an "unloaded car"! - Submitted by: Cody Finke
