Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

And I know she knows that I'm not fond of Busted
And I know she knows I'm not fond of asking.
The Story: I was singing along to the track, sang the lyrics like that, and my friend found it quite funny. Since then we sing the word "busted" whenever we don't know the lyrics to something. - Submitted by: Ralf
I know, she knows, I'm not from the basket
I know, she knows that I'm not fond of asking
The Story: This was actually a girl I know, who when singing very loudly along to this song, yelled out the misheard lyrics and proceeded to tell us she was positive these were correct. She was quite embarrassed when told about the correct lyrics. - Submitted by: From the Basket
You're such a smiling sweet whore

The Story: Seriously, if you imagine its a Mancunian singing, it sounds like 'whore' I only found out from checking! - Submitted by: Noona
I love herbicus
She moves in her own way.
I love her because
She moves in her own way.
The Story: The DJ's on our local radio station were discussing the line, and they thought it sounded like "Herbicus". Now, that's all I can hear. I think it would make a great name for a dog. - Submitted by: Kiwi-J

Uh oh, I love her because
She moves in here own way.
The Story: I was singing this song at work, out loud when I actually sung this lyric out loud. Everyone burst into fits of giggles. They now all call me 'Whopper'. - Submitted by: Majella
Uh oh, oh it's those herby kids
