Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Toni Basil

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

The Story: In 1982, the first single from 'Word of Mouth' "Mickey" was internationally her greatest hits to date. With the feminine theme, it featured on many lists of the greatest rock songs of all time. When "Mickey" was success, she was 38 years old at the time because she was born in 1943 and now she was 73 years old when I wrote this story on 3 February 2017. Although she was an academic and has entered the golden age, but she deliberately wrote this song as an experience that she still shows her creativity in entertainment. Of course, her talent in the dancing actually she had done for a long time in her teenage year. Moreover, cheerleader is the main theme of this song with dance music style and a touch of rock music. After the second single from that album "Nobody" unfortunately not success like "Mickey", she decided to move to a better profession choreographer. Academic musicians was not just only herself, but also Grace Slick of the pop rock/soft rock outfit Starship previously was a member of folk rock/psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane. Since a song that she wrote together with her band was success internationally, rock historians believe that Grace Slick become the next academic musicians and the oldest musician ever in the world who are still active until now. - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
