The Lyrics

Bush:
Give up
Whatcha tryin' for?
Back off
There ain't no hope no more
I wish you could only see--let it be!

Gore:
But I hate you the way you are,
Drivin' in your pollutin' car
I really don't mean to dis
But if you win, it'll be somethin' like this:

The country run, by someone,
Who got all C's, if not D's,
Tryin' to seem cool, yet all ways a fool to me

Bush:
Tell me
Don't you think that it's about time that you conceded?
I see the way you're tryin' to steal the White House from me, it's just not needed.
Life's like this you,
You choose an' ya lose an' ya sigh an' ya cry 'bout it all
An' ya turn it into
Honesty, promise me I'm never gonna see ya make it

Gore:
No, no no!
You come in here unannounced
Acting like you're somethin' else
Who you are and what that means you show, you don't know!
Laugh out, when you start to talk
About, whoever knows what
You know you're not foolin' anyone. You're just so dumb!

I mean the country run, by someone,
Who got all C's, if not D's,
Tryin' to seem cool, yet always a fool to me.

Bush:
Tell me
Don't you think that it's about time that you conceded?
I see the way you're tryin' to steal the White House from me, it's just not needed.
Life's like this you,
You choose an' ya lose an' ya sigh an' ya cry 'bout it all
An' ya turn it into
Honesty, promise me I'm never gonna see ya make it

Gore:
No, no, no. . . .

Bush:
Give up
Whatcha tryin' for?
Back off
There ain't no hope no more
I wish you could only see--let it be!

Gore:
But the country run, by someone
Who got all C's, if not D's,
Tryin' to seem cool, but always a fool to me.

Bush:
Tell me
Don't you think that it's about time that you conceded?
I see the way you're tryin' to steal the White House from me, it's just not needed.
Life's like this you,
You choose an' ya lose an' ya sigh an' ya cry 'bout it all
An' ya turn it into
Honesty, promise me I'm never gonna see ya make it

Gore:
No, no, no!
(Repeat chorus)

I had something at the top explaining this parody but it's not there for some reason. In case it doesn't make sense, this is supposed to be a dialogue between Gore and Bush before the election of 2000 was decided. It wasn't meant to particularly slam either candidate, but if I in any way insulted Al Gore, deepest apologies.

I'm with you about Gore, cous.

Good job! Very good parody... I thought it was really funny. I can imagine Bush and Gore singing Avril's song with these words... hehehe

To Sarah: the song was made AFTER the Bush-Gore election. Furthermore, in 2000, I don't think anybody even knew about Avril La Vigne publicly (except her friends and family).
