The Lyrics
I've been reading X-Men: Mangaverse (echo)
And page by page, it's just gettin' worse (echo)
Who's that no-named purple haired chick? (echo)
'Cause she sure don't look like no Betsy Braddock
And Wolverine is really old, really old
He's lettin' them gray hairs show, gray hairs show.
Yeah, Logan's gettin' really old, really old
His age is just startin' to show, startin' to show
Oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh...
[Verse 1: Erin Brown]
I went to Katy Mills with my mamma and friends
We were all so excited, Christmas comin' again
We went into Books-A-Million, looked at the comics within
I saw Rogue with green hair and some real ugly men
Though I picture myself as the Nightcrawler's wife
I didn't see the injustice done, though I saw the book twice
My mom asked me if I liked it, glancing at the price
With manga and X-Men, it's surely my delight
And I'd like to thank you, Mamma, you was more than generous
But Toad's a good guy? What the hell kind of crap is this?!
Just so you know, mom and dad, to you I have no bitterness
But so begins the story of this confusing incident
So I say
I've been reading X-Men: Mangaverse (echo)
And page by page, it's just gettin' worse (echo)
Who's that no-named purple haired chick? (echo)
'Cause she sure don't look like no Betsy Braddock
And Wolverine is really old, really old
He's lettin' them gray hairs show, gray hairs show.
Yeah, Logan's gettin' really old, really old
His age is just startin' to show, startin' to show
Oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh...
[Verse 2: Erin Brown]
Can you recall a time people confused you unmercifully?
This universe ain't even close to the real thing's history
Since when has Mystique suffered an incurable injury?
And didn't get back up and shrug it off like, "It's nothin', G?"
If you wanted good looks, dammit Nightie you had it
Why'd you have to make yourself look like some Freakazoid reject?
You had it all—me, good looks, friends, and talent
And now, you're just some evil guy LSD addict
So now my friends and I sit back, just trying to find a way
That this can make any sense, analyzing 200 times a day
I don't care how old I get, I'll always remember this
And still not have solved the mystery of this confusing incident.
I've been reading X-Men: Mangaverse (echo)
And page by page, it's just gettin' worse (echo)
Who's that no-named purple haired chick? (echo)
'Cause she sure don't look like no Betsy Braddock
And Wolverine is really old, really old
He's lettin' them gray hairs show, gray hairs show.
Yeah, Logan's gettin' really old, really old
His age is just startin' to show, startin' to show
Oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh...
[Verse 3: Erin Brown]
Nothing could atone for the pain I've endured
Storm's a real witch, Cori and Lori sayin' "Girl, you sure?"
And Colossus is fat instead of being muscular.
These writers would be better off shovelin' manure
And what's all this about Scott and Logan being brothers?
This is what happens when you give Stan Lee's work to another
And Kurt, your good heart is what really made me love you
And just so long as that exists, no bad writers can touch us
But, just so you know, boy, I'll always be your baby girl
I just wish that I could be there helpin' you save the world
And just one last thing—why ain't Beast intelligent?
Just another mystery in this confusing incident.
So we say
I've been reading X-Men: Mangaverse (echo)
And page by page, it's just gettin' worse (echo)
Who's that no-named purple haired chick? (echo)
'Cause she sure don't look like no Betsy Braddock
And Wolverine is really old, really old
He's lettin' them gray hairs show, gray hairs show.
Yeah, Logan's gettin' really old, really old
His age is just startin' to show, startin' to show
Oh-oh-oh-oh-ooh...
