The Lyrics
I wanted to parody this song for awhile. I thought of a Titanic parody called "I Guess We Shouldn't've Disembarked." I thought of a hot date called "I Hope I Didn't Double-Park." I decided to use this one. BTW, I don't care if you use these titles, but I would like recognition. That's all I ask.
Germany
Many sights to see
It was all so lovely
And I left it far too soon
But exchange rates
Back in the United States
Were not open to debates
So I turned them all down
But then all of Europe decreed
They just need one currency
Eliminate the Francs
And the Danes too concede
They all just changed to Euro
And that might be smart
But what can I do with my Deutsche Marks?
In embassies
Everyone would get fussy
And try persuasion on me
To get me to change my Marks
But I shook my head
And I rudely said,
"Let me use these instead!"
And those were the cleaner remarks
'Cause all of Europe decreed
They just need one currency
Eliminate the Francs
And the Danes too concede
They all just changed to Euro
And that might be smart
But what can I do with my Deutsche Marks?
