The Lyrics

Wow, haven't touched the Epic 40 since last November. Still, haven't got a job yet, so I gotta fill the time somehow. Finished this one faster than I thought I would, and that's on top of finishing I Am The Thing today. Weird. Anyway, parody about being stuck in a space-time anomaly and viewing parallel dimensions. Obviously, right? "Temp'rally" and "temporally" are the same word, BTW, the latter just has one more syllable than the former. Enjoy!
I'm in a space-time pocket
I crashed there with my rocket
And the engine isn't startin', I'm stuck
Stuck in this space-time pocket
All dimensions, I'm watchin'
Wish that I had brought some poppin' corn
Dang

I think it started last month, or just last week
Since I'm locked out of time, lost my time-sense, see
Built a home-brew rocket out of spare debris
From my crashed homemade helicopter, didn't stop me for one tick
With some jet fuel thrown into the mix
Then I counted down from six, neighbour's dish I kinda clipped
I was flyin', wow
Into space, wow
But soon, kapow, pow, pow, pow

I hit a space-time pocket
With my rickety rocket
And no spare fuel in my pocket, I'm stuck
Jammed in this space-time pocket
Tried to travel but botched it
There's no way I'm gonna top this, no
Dang

Well, now I'm stuck in this temporal mess
For me it's win-win
Cause it's not like I've left
Anyone really close back on Earth
And now I see a surge of altered universes
Like, there's this weirdo Earth made out of gingerbread
One filled with shrimp, of which I got tired
And one which has my full attention, at least for a little while
Cause it's the gender-flipped one and it makes me smile
And I just keep on watchin', female me is wearin' thigh-highs
I hate to boast, she's hotter than most
Although it could be narcissistic sayin' that, or just gross
I think I'll coast on to something less weird, adios
There's a universe most dope
It's so full of innovation, lots of crazy inventions
I'm takin' notes, oh my God, so much useful information
Maybe I'll find why I'm temp'rally stuck
To my surprise
They see me, my connection's shut!

Thought this space-time pocket
Wouldn't let me have contact
My communicating's cockblocked, I thought
I guess this space-time pocket
Is not hidden from watchers
Now there's hope I'll get my rocket out

Out of this space-time pocket
Only friend here's my rocket
Man, this little trip, I bollocksed it all up
Stuck in this space-time pocket
Got no fuel for this rocket
Well, I guess I'm really buggered, y'all

And though I may be buggered, I see pretty colours
Watch parallel universes all day
Although to say that is quite silly cuz this pocket's not temporally
Fine, can't use time in any way cuz basic'lly
Like a missing file
I can't access real time
But I hear you say:
"That would drive me crazy"
You may be right, but not me, I ignore that pointless shit
And say "That world's made out of gravy!"

Hey, hey, hey, hey! Hey-ey-ee!
Worlds where ev'ryone's a girl and gay*
Worlds where ev'ryone is dead, worlds run by sea otters

Hey! Hey-ey-ee!
Words where ev'ryone's an anthro, 'kay
Worlds where ev'ryone's a bot, worlds with no mad shoppers

Seen from this space-time pocket, where
I crashed my rocket, where
I can see parallel
Alternate (Oh, come on!)
Alternate worlds, no bollocks, bud
Find a world of smart guys
Who can rescue me, I won't mind
The weird stuff, mad stuff
Save me, someone
From this space-time pocket

*No offense meant by this line, BTW. Just thought I'd make sure of that. Also: bollocksed is so totally a real word. It's on Wikipedia and everything!

Reminds me of one of my favorite Family Guy episodes: "Road To The Multiverse". This one was pretty sweet!

(SOTM) My humor switch must be turned off or something. DKTOS, but I liked the rhymes and title sub. Maybe I was expecting a time-travel Back to the Future-type parody sung by Doc. I didn't laugh once, sorry. :( It was good, though. 545

An interlude parody if there ever was one...

I really like Jason Mraz and the OS, but I have to agree with Chris...not as funny as I thought it would be. I really thought the idea of going up into space and getting stuck was pretty funny, but I think also the OS lyrics go by really fast so it was hard to follow (not your fault of course). As far as I could tell, the pacing was still pretty solid, but not a lot of laughs from me either.

(SOTM) Not your funniest work, but still very solid parody. For some reason it was missing something. The concept was great, but it just didn't connect. Sorry. Kudos for taking on such an intense song.
