The Lyrics

I thought I finished this about a year ago, and now after over an hour's worth of revision I'm going to have the first "stronger" parody on the site.
Doc-da-doc-doctor please pill me, because I'm very nervous
I feel really worried about soldiers in the armed service
I'm sad since I watched a brand-new sitcom and still felt mirthless
And if you feel that you can't do what I need ask the nurses

Medicate me now

I'll sing praise of you
If you don't take the Merck hater view
I need your signature on paper to
Bid all sorts of uncomfortable pain adieu
Make the prescription the limitless kind
Yeah I know that it could make me go blind
I'll chance it since I find
I just feel like me when I change my mind
Boo to diet and exercise
I like my food French not stir-fried
So I get heartburn that's no surprise
Please help my esophagus start to work right
I wish I was much less over-sized
Pills slim my gut and chest and inner thighs
Make me, without rest, energized
They cure stress and deter vice
And work like all night

Doc-da-doc-doctor please pill me because I'm kind of anxious
I must keep from thinking about my job that's rather thankless
I'm sad because I was told that I have a face that sank ships
Boy I'd hate to be a soldier, and no you don't have to crank this

Medicate me now
I'm cranky

There are times when I don't feel tired at night
Should sleep but wired to fight
I watch TV and know Pfizer's right
Their pills can help me be out just like a light
But a light tablet can still be powerful
Make me find hectic rush hours dull
Or give one a yearning to devour skulls
I still want pills for a whole lot of reasons
I want to pay more attention
And to increase how much I've been benchin'
Release my rage without much aggression
Decrease my depressing impulse spendin'
So please write me at least four prescriptions
Just three won't keep me free of conniptions
And, I do not wanna be
Achy, anxious, nauseous, nervous

Doc-da-doc-doctor please pill me I jumped and now my shin aches
I don't think I have herpes at all, but give me Valtrex in case
My blood should flow a bit better, but I won't cut salt intake
I'll write you a thank you letter if you help I'm no ingrate

Medicate me now
Medicate me now

The pharmacist's thinking "Oh, man"
He's shocked since I'm not an old man
Got more drugs than Lindsay Lohan
As for payment I have no plan
As for payment I have no plan
I'm stalling since I have no plan
Still stalling since I have no plan
Still stalling and still have no plan
I'll stall until I'm an old man
But I do not wanna be
Achy anxious nauseous nervous

Doc-da-doc-doctor don't bill me because I lack insurance
I was fully covered last year, I am not any more since
I am no longer a student, soon I'll be really poor since
My actions were far from prudent. I need more pain endurance

Medicate me now
Medicate me now

I want the ego of Kanye
Cream and clear from Victor Conte
To not be bored by the Brontës
And yeah I still cannot pay
Still want to burn my belly flab
Let the small stuff not make me mad
Still can't pay yeah this could be bad
And no I won't go to rehab

I was a little concerned for my sake that the Linsday Lohan drug line might have been outdated, but unfortunately for her sake it is definitely not according to an article from yesterday.

(Idle) Never heard TOS 'til now - you did a great job on this Ethan, especially catching the double and triple rhymes at the ends of the lines. I liked the not-so-subtle digs at Soulja Boy and Amy Winehouse. The pacing is outstanding.

(Idull) This was OK, even after I got past the initial trouble I had reading this. Fun satire on our current medical sysyem woes, to be sure. Who's Victor Conte?
Ethan - October 22, 2008 - Report this comment
Victor Conte was in charge of BALCO laboratories, which was linked to the Barry Bonds steroid scandal.

(Idol) I applaud you, seriously, on taking on a song that to AmIRight is hardly heard of. This was your most impressive entry to date on Idol, and one of your best ever. I also enjoy the rhyme scheme a lot, you walked the line of intelligent comedy without going to far of your point, while the formatting wasn't perfect, the pacing and rhyme scheme was fantastic, one of your best. Thanks for your Victor Conte explanation. . .Most parodist on this site, for better or worse, don't target modern day epics, that makes this one unique--props.
