The Lyrics

OK. Call it what you will. 'They couldn't respond because of the damage.' 'The people were looting.' A screw up is a screw up. You're telling me that we can have our military deployed anywhere in the world in 36 hours, yet it takes FIVE DAYS to get people help in our own country? Is the red tape THAT thick?
[Jamie Foxx]
He runs the countrywith lies and greed
Yea he's a trifflin man indeed
Oh he's a gold digga way over town
That dig's on me

[Chorus:]
(He runs the country)
Now I aint sayin he's a gold digger (With lies and greed)
But he ain't helpin' out the broke niggaz
(He runs the country)
Now I aint sayin he's a gold digger (With lies and greed)
but he aint helpin' out the broke niggaz
get down Bush go head get down (I gotta leave)
get down Bush go head get down (I gotta leave)
get down Bush go head get down (I gotta leave)
get down Bush go head

[Verse 1:]
Here comes the son
We got him back in 2001
Guess I'll be a son of a gun
Dubya actually won
He said "I can do the job
That's why I'm gonna run
Far as votes? Don't really care
Jeb can spot me for some just for fun"
But now the damage is done
From Katrina
The people there are sinking and they keep getting deeper
Deeper, Deeper with no help, no food
And you're gonna tell all of them they have bad attitudes?
'Ok call the troops, tell them to bring their guns'
He got in Airforce One, flew over everyone
Went back to his house, then called it a day
Did you fuckin think that this was gonna help? No way!
You know why
'Cause they need food and water
To help save peoples young sons and daughters
Katrina took the people like lambs to slaughter
But then again- the White House is not near the water

[Verse 2:]
5 damn days, 5 damn days
The people stuck out in the muck for 5 damn days
Man, if the upper class was stuck for just one of them days
They woulda had a bunch sent in right away
But you see, these weren't rich folks. They ain't have no money
And now they lost everything. Not even funny
Bush was spose to bring the people progress in the city
He went to his office with Congress "bout the city
Got too busy talkin' and digressed "bout the city
Wonders why all the people have regressed in the city (city)
'Cause they ain't got no food, hollerin' "Please come help us!
PLEASE COME HELP US! Now!"
That just don't make no sense to me
When help goes overseas, arrives in less than three
5 damn days, 5 damn days
Yet for the people that are dying, you say "help is on the way?'

[Verse 3:]
Hell yeah, I'm sayin he's a gold digger, he has greed
And I don't think he's really knows what his people need
When the storm washed the roads out, they can't leave
Gotta wade through a flood, gotta roll up the sleeves
But now the world is watchin'
They see the rescue effort that the people are botchin'
Look how they treat the people, Dubya. That ain't right
You're a looter if you're black, but a finder if white?
So, say what you like
I know that Bush is triflin', and that ain't right
I wonder: to get better attention
From Bush and his lackeys
A better approach- say all the folks are Iraqis

get down Bush gone head get down (I gotta leave)
get down Bush gone head get down (I gotta leave)
get down Bush gone head get down (I gotta leave)
get down Bush gone head

As I'm sure you've guessed, Syncronos, it isn't the red tape that's so thick. It's the thick... louse.

Dumbbutt Dubya don't care about the black OR white man. He and the governor and mayor are all to blame for the mess. I remember an NBC reporter in New Orleans talking about anarchy in the city after sundown, and this dog and pony show went on for a f***ing week! That's disgraceful and unexcusable and your parody makes a good point of this.

Not really a fan of political parodies and this one is old news and dated so it didn't really do much for me buddy but I'm glad to see you wanting to join us!

I miss GWB :-(
Agrimorfee - July 26, 2015 - Report this comment
It reads much like as if Kanye wrote it himself, after his infamous "Bush don't care about black people" line. Did you write this before or after that?

Loved it- 555!!!

(Artistry) I had the same exactly thoughts as both Matty and Aggy! I usually try to avoid political parody music because people are very sensitive about there particular party and I think the entire system needs work anyway, not one side in particular. The main thing with this one is that it's very topical to that time period. I agree Katrina wasn't handled in the best way, but it's all been said by now. However, you matched Kanye's arrogance and style masterfully, as Aggy said, it's like Kanye wrote it himself. Big points there. Maybe if I'd read this all those years ago, I'd feel more passionate towards it. It's a solid parody though, and I can't fault you for time passing us by can I? ;)

Dated but still pretty good.

(Artistry) Definitely a greatly written parody, I could feel your anger to the situation, but as others have said, reading this now isn't exactly the timeliest thing. Barring the datedness, though, worth 555.
Abbott Skelding - July 28, 2015 - Report this comment
I agree that this isn't very timely, but the pacing was pretty spot on and I loved the lackeys/Iraqis rhyme. Overall, not bad...but would be better if I was reading this ten years ago.
