The Lyrics

DKTOS? MIDI here, Lyrics here, reply #2. This OS isn't bad (very little copy/paste) but is over 8 minutes long and doesn't make much sense or rhyme so the parody follows that. Despite the fact that I am slamming this album I am still a Metallica fan; lines that are asterisked (*) are not my personal opinion.
[overly long intro again, 2+ minutes]

These are the guys that made this crap
This is the band that is now bust*
These are bad tunes that have awful sound
This is a song that's weak and doesn't rhyme
"These are the ears that ring with hate"
Anger's disgraced that'll never change*
That is the gist of this first verse
And James your voice is lousy and worn*

These aren't words I lightly choose
We're feelin' cheated this CD blows*
Were all the words chosen at random?
That's how I feel I feel its lame
"This is the face that you'll never change"
Didn't we hear you say that before
This songs's a dog of that I'm sure
This is the voice of fanbase no more*

This is awful...
Yes this is awful
This is awful...
Yes this is awful

No kinda lyrics..
No rhymin' lyrics..
No kinda lyrics..
So just what gives?

[break]

You guys are like the Stones you're old*
Like a bow'l movement that needs to leave*
This isn't "Lars Production Show"
This is so lame I want to heave*
There is a rhyme! one for you clowns
This would still suck for a garage band*
I guess there's tweens that think you're cool*
This is the voice of fanbase of old

Yeah(x8)

This is a test of which you've failed*
This song is crap that never ends
This is a flood of sonic shite
Want back my cash of which I have blown
This was a fear that's now turned to dread
Gone are the days back when you ruled
This is a song that will never end
This is my voiced defiance you whores!*

This is awful...
Yes this is awful
This is awful...
Yes this is awful

No kinda lyrics..
No rhymin' lyrics..
No kinda lyrics..
So just what gives?

[break]

This CD's one that gathers dust
This is the fact that this is a bust
Should be disgraced bad produck-shun
This is a track that's left undone*

Ominous
My anus
Ominous
My anus
Ominous
My anus
Ominous
My anus

This CD's one that gathers dust
This is the fact that this is a bust
Should be disgraced bad produck-shun
This is a track that's left undone*

Ominous
My anus
Ominous

555, Downloaded the actual song on this one too, while easier to listen to than the other one, I think they need to cut out some of the intro(as 2 minutes+ is abit much). Good parody!

Red - at work and pretty busy, so I can't d/l and listen...(no head phones or speakers on my PC here anyway) Good read, though...yeah, I liked that "Stones" line, too...lol...

Thanks Step-chan, Pat and Paul. Paul, the link is a MIDI not a MP3, though I doubt hearing it will help much; it is a pretty bad copy.

I think that one of Metallica's problems, maybe THE problem, is that at the hight of the black album they were the biggest band in the world, and they never really recovered from that, they still think they are, or at least they want to be again, so instead of just simply go back to their roots and make an album they would have like to hear themselfes when they were 20 they end up making these compromises with simplified lyrics, riffs with potential that are downtrodden for prime time airplay instead of expanded upon into something interesting and groundbreaking, and commercial campaigns that over and over again says that now, now we have something really great coming this time, even before they have actually entered the studio. They should make the next album in isolation, in secret, and not even tell their own record company about it until it ready to be pressed in the CD factory (and not accept any kind of compromise suggested by the slick know-it-alls in the marketing department).

True about most of what you said Peter. This CD is not radio friendly at all just based on song length. Metallica could have cut most of these songs in half (as well as adding decent lyrics, solos, audible bass and taken Lars snare away), included an instrumental piece and the CD would have been really good. Since they didn't it is really bad with not a single memorable track so far.

I 555d you because this was a big laugh. I was curious on how you'd handle the 'this is the (something) that (does something)'-formula; it turns out the funniest lyrics in my opinion were the ones you DIDN'T mean. "This would still suck for a garage band" LOL And the lines about 'ominous, uranus' were priceless. ;-)

What I forgot to say: sounds like someone is playing his GameBoy instead of his guitar at the end of this song, eh?

Thanks YAD, I thought of doing the title "Just buy from Napster", but had insufficient material there to make a parody. I also realise that I changed the line "This is the this and that is the that", to make further fun of Metallica's "formula" you mentioned above.

I understand your opinion on the album and all, Red Ant, and I'm not gonna say you're wrong or anything. But, I probably won't read anymore of your St. Anger spoofs, simply because they're all about the same thing. I'd try to find something to spoof in them other than how bad the album was or how worthless the lyrics were. Just saying.
