The Lyrics

Motörhead is my favorite band and this is based on one of the songs from their new album "Inferno" that was released June 2004. [MODE SHAMELESS PLUG] By it! I´ve previously restrained myself from reworking Lemmy´s brilliant lyrics, I´ve even said that would be sacrilege, but since it is well known that Lemmy has a deep interest in history I think/hope he will approve if he should ever come across this. It has to be said though that a few "facts" are more in tune with the recent movie than acknowledged canon. Puritans beware!
He fought for Agamemnon
They´d been to war before
His men in black were coming back
To heed his killing roar

No pity, no surrender
They took no prisoners, they spared no brave defender
No mercy, no peace for Troy

Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He came for lives to take
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
His name could make a statue shake
Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
His reputation´s made of blood to flow on
(´Chilles, ´Chilles)
And Achilles came to not go home

The Gods on Mount Olympus
Sat down to watch the show
The songs of steel from campus
Brought fear to all his foes

No pardon, no quarter
He had his Paris passion, he glorified the slaughter
No mercy, no rest for Troy

Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He battled men at Troy
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He was no fake McCoy
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He widowed many wifes
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
And Achilles took a thousand lifes

Achilles sailed to glory
Odysseus by his side
A legendary story
Lived by fireside

No quarter, all hope will fade
With Hector came a duel, that Trojan faced his blade
No mercy, just death to Troy

Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He killed big men in battle
That Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He slaughtered them like cattle
That Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He ran like he could fly
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
And his name will never ever die

Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He rode the Trojan horse
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
He felt no last remorse
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
A name that never fades
He was Achilles (´Chilles, ´Chilles)
And now he mounts a throne in Hades

I don't know the original song, so I can't vote, but it seems like it's really good! I enjoyed the story anyway...

Thanxs AKA. A two-three week old song will of course get DKTOS a LOT, if not by all, but sometimes writing what you feel like instead of writing what you think the other writers here will apprechiate has its own value, for oneself as a writer if nothing else. I wanted to write this one different, I wanted to keep the lyric´s heavy metal feeling and I wasn´t going for funny in the usual way. (But I couldn´t totally restrain myself so there´s a hidden easter egg for those who made that far. A hind: The pun implies some French-Greek love going on). ;-) Thanx for reading it and the comment.
