The Lyrics

A tribute to everyones favorite hero, even though most of these things didn't happen on the show
Hey there MacGyver
What's it like to get into a
Sticky situation every bloody episode that I see
Of your show
You foiled a bomb plot with some soap
A can of coke.

Hey there MacGyver
Don't you worry about the madman
There a car bat'ry, an soft squeegee, some iron shavings and
a Silver Spoon
What luck there was an exhaust pipe
Right by your side

Oh, what fortunate luck you have x4
Fortunate luck you have

Hey there MacGyver
It went into an ad break and then
I flicked over the channel to see what else was on the telly
Reality
You then escaped I didn't see
On MTV

Hey there MacGyver
I still don't get how you escaped
That cage surrounded by gunman in a cave under a sea
Rats swarming round
And you were just hanging upside down
12 hungry hounds

oh I watch it every day x4
All the shows on tape

When you were trapped inside that car
That bad guy still dint get to far
Cos the answer to life's problems is duck tape
You somehow managed to get out
I still don't understand how you got out
But out you got and you were on your way
Some chewing gum, a ball of string
You make bombs from anything
You will always end up saving the day
Thats just your way

Hey there MacGyver
What's it like, your show is over
Now your starring in Stargate yes sir
And now your are escaping from the Gould
Whilst there are Jaffa in the room
And the mother ship goes Kaboom
Hey there are RDA heres to you
This ones for you

oh I watch it every day x5
All the shows on tape

Wow, Josh...this is easily one of your best! Really descriptive and lots of funny scenarios. Your pacing and rhyming is getting better (still not quite there all the time), but your sense of humour is really shining through.
Summary: some technical issues still, but still very chucklesome. 555

Thanks Kris, I'm not sure about a 3 on pacing TBH though (whoever gave it. 4 I can accept but 3 seems a little harsh,) thanks to those who voted though

Coming back strong I see. . .I don't know who threed pacing. . .for whatever reason I'm having trouble voting on this one. . .but I'll leave my comment that this was very good and I see why you want me to host a "Hey There Dellilah round, the problem is I buy backing tracks and get licensing permission now, so songs I buy tend to be random, unless I get donations through my "Backing Track Donation Fund" (no I'm not kidding, I really do have one) for recording for other people. If anyone is interested in donating to have that track in my collection so that I can host a "Hey There Dellilah" contest, let me know, I'll get the rate I would need to buy that track. . .or any other that one might want me to buy and record for any parodist who is interested in me recording their work.

Actualyl, as a massive fan of Staregate (with my collection of over 70 SG1 DVDs over in the corner) i think you'll find it pronounced in different way by different characters and this way fits into the song

I agree with Kristof on this one, Josh... maybe mix up the choruses a bit and perhaps go more hyperbolic on some of the items he cobbles together near the end... and in the second stanza: "a Silver Spoon What luck there was an exhaust pipe Right by your side", shouldn't 'spoon' and 'pipe' rhyme? Great work here!

Yes, for the recording I changed it to kite (which still doesnt rym but is better)

I heard the recording yesterday and was going to comment the vocals were too low to hear... turns out my soundcard wasn't in the best mode for hearing songs. Excellent work and recording Josh, you've got a great voice. This song lends itself to taking liberties with the pacing (and even rhyming to some extent)... kite/pipe/side rhyme well enough. Lots of good subs in here, including the title. 555.

I had the title idea in my head, I think eveyrone did cause it's a really obvious one, but this was great. 5s
