Parody Song Title:

"Gotta Trade Carlos Beltran!"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Stuck with a Boras client,
No way to get him signed.
Won't take a five year contract
All offers he's declined.

A stolen base sensation
His power earns him praise.
He mans a key position
A modern Willie Mays.
He wants to leave the Royals and play on a bigger stage
His agent says that he deserves a superstar-like wage
Maybe A-Rod is the gauge...

CHORUS:
Come on Allard Baird,
You gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
He's headed out of town,
Gotta move Carlos Beltran!
It's time for him to go
to a team with plenty of prospects.
He can bring you gold,
Gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
You gotta trade Carlos Beltran!

A trade to New York City -
To the Yankees or the Mets.
Rent him for half a season,
Come place your playoff bets.
A catcher and third baseman
Would win any team a prize.
But keeping him all season
It would be KC's demise.
You could doom the whole franchise!

CHORUS:
Come on Allard Baird,
You gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
He's headed out of town,
Gotta move Carlos Beltran!
It's time for him to go
to a team with plenty of prospects.
He can bring you gold,
Gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
You gotta trade Carlos Beltran!

A vintage centerfielder's
like a very rare Bordeaux;
Once you've had a taste of him
It's really hard to let him go -
A Latin Joe Dimaggio!

REPEAT CHORUS:
Come on Allard Baird,
You gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
He's headed out of town,
Gotta move Carlos Beltran!
It's time for him to go
to a team with plenty of prospects.
He can bring you gold
Gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
You gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
Gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
Gotta trade Carlos Beltran!
Gotta trade Carlos Beltran!

Superb! With only a few minor pacing flaws, this one is a solid hit! 4-5-5

I don't think you have to beg for Beltran to be traded...it will happen. I hope that it won't be to my Yankees, though. Beltran is not a good fit. Great parody!

Beltran not a good fit? Compared to Raul I-Me-Mine-desi and Ruben Seeme-erra, he'd be a natural fit.

Thanks to all for reading and for the comments. To me, Beltran is absolutely a great fit in NY for next year! I ended up going a different direction, but at one point, had the line, "He's the heir to Bernie Williams".

I liked it. It was pretty creative. I'm not a big baseball guy though, but I agree for the most part. Keep on keepin' on. Write another ballad.
