Original Song Title:

"Don't Stop the Music"

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Don't Start the Drama"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

(Throughout this song, Rihanna samples Michael Jackson's Ma ma se ma ma sa ma ma ce sa
in my parody replace that with "She don't play, she just hates, she yells a lot)

Please Don't Start the Drama
Please Don't Start the Drama

You're so irate
I see you getting all up in your boyfriend's face
I see your lips both moving
Cussing through the night and day
You start something about nothing Don't care what you say
Your brain is filled with hate, babe
Glass flew
See you throwing something out into your pool
You're making hanging out with you uncomf'table
Baby, I must say your yellin is inaudible
If you just want to yell, don't

I don't know why you started
See why you're broken hearted
And now you're slamming shut the front door, he's departed
Your hands holding your face
Letting some Green Day play
You clinch your hand, beat your chest and then you walk this way

Don't know what's in you today
I can see your body fumin, so please stay away
Don't want into this
You just like to start s**t
Sick of hearing you b**ch
Please stop being, Please stop being a witch

I don't want to hear you babe
I have heard what you are saying, so leave it at bay
Screaming baby mama
Fighting cause you wanta
All throughout the summa
Could you stop the, could you stop the
Could you stop the drama

Baby has opinions, everything she knows
It does not take that much to make her explode
She's waiting for something so that she can blow
You'll see her a glow-woah

So if her boyfriend farted
She'll go places uncharted
and now she's stomping on the wood floor, got her started
Your hands are on her waist
She's giving him a chase
Yells at her man, hits his chest and then gets in her face

The conversation decays
She accuses him of crusin', I'm sick of her games
I can't listen to this
Hearing her break dishes
Calming her is my wish
But drama's her, But drama's her
But drama's her abyss

Please just stop the drama
Please just stop the drama
Please just stop the drama

Don't want to hear it today
I think that she has been boozing, shes stutters away
Hanging with my friend, Mitch
but I am sick of this
He is dating a witch
He can't stop her, He can't stop her high pitch

I have said all I can say
You just know that he should dump her, 'Cause she's always crazed
What did he get into
This chic loves to argue
I can't take no more dude
You should bid her, You should bid her
You should bid her adieu

Then you'll stop the drama

Peter's right Dave another trip down emo lane especially with lines like: "Your hands holding your face,Letting some Green Day play" this read like a parody of transforming one Rihanna song into another Rihanna song because the lyrics remind me a lot of "Take A Bow" (I hate that OS but love this OS)

Actually Damian, Peter was referring to self hate, this ones not about self hate, this ones about someone else being a dramatic little whiny. . .well uh shouldn't use the word here, but you can't draw a correlation between every similarity or it eliminates almost all possibilities. For example. . .Antarctican Terrorists are in a basturd of a mood because of Global Warming so they get all emo and hate the world, so therefore Antarctican Terrorists was just like Gothic Tension and I shouldn't have done it. . .they aren't the same, one element of emo (this girl using Green Day to relate to) does not make a song about self hate, this one doesn't have me hating me at all. . .much different from Gothic Tension, Shunned by Everyone, or the one I wrote last week which all were about me being Emo--this one is about a friend dating someone who starts a bunch of non-sense drama arguments

Oops I called you Damian, sorry. . .

"Antarctican Terrorists" and "Gothic Tension" might have roots in the same mood/feeling but they're diverse in the way they are presented (one being surreal and the other being realistic). All of the songs you are writing as on late such as this one, Pout, and Shunned by everyone are all realistic and fall under the same mood/feeling thus you can see where I'm coming from with this. The difference between all those songs are that "Graduation", "21 Guns" and "Shout" are all basically whiny emo tunes this one is a fun original and turning it into a whiny emo song doesn't really work.

Thats where I think you are making a similar mistake, this one is not presented anything like the others and it does not come from the same mood--you can't say this isn't like this because of that and then say that's not the case in a different example

Oh, and to further prove my point. . .Damian, who doesn't care for 'emo' themes at all (he hates the three you are comparing) likes this one a lot. . .how can they be the same if he hates that theme. . Self hate and Whiny Witch are NOT the same thing . . .Now I know why TCOP got so defensive when you accused him of doing too many Transformer parodies when the song he was doing wasn't even Transformers. . .
Matthias - September 07, 2010 - Report this comment
Knowing Damien he probably just likes this original song more than Graduation, 21 Guns and Shout because it's Dance Pop and Damien likes Dance Pop.

I actually liked this parody, I thought thought that the three of those could relate to one another.

I think that a random detected minor lyrical theme of emo mimicking slash light depression (should have called it minor punstinentia), was what I meant with my comment the other day, pretty sure I said nothing like self hate, which in my book plays in a whole different division than light depression, though with Emo being an official musical genre covering the whole field of "forbidden" male/human emotions I guess it's kinda hard to capture exactly what I mean witch just a short comment (and what you mean with a parody in that field).

As for the parody here I think that "she don't play, she just hates, she yells a lot" was a clever way to handle the MJ samples in TOS, those kinds of things are always hard to handle in writing and furthermore you took care of that business right in the intro, I think I'm gonna try to learn from that (so be warned Matthias if you see this, soon some of my intros might be even LONGER). ;-)
