The Lyrics

(*** Please read and vote on this version, not on the duplicate version that might have accidentally posted, thanks ***)Tim Kelby posted a parody called "New Enterprise Theme", and I did not find it until after I had written my own..... Tim Kelby's parody is of the shorter TV version of the original song, and you can find Tim Kelby's parody at the following URL http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/russellwatson0.shtml .............. My parody is of the longer "Extended Version" of the theme song for the new Enterprise TV series.
It's such an old show
Starting with Leonard's ears
Been on a long time
But its end is finally near

And I can feel the change in the sponsors now
No one wants to pay
And they're not gonna buy ad time no more
No they're not gonna buy ad time

Star Trek's just space
Full of farts
It's nothing but space-farts on TV

It's run out
Of ideas
It can't do
Anything

Long ago
It had soul
And William Shatner over-acting
It could reach
Any star...

Now it's space
(it's space)
(it's space)
(it's space)
(it's spa-a-a-ace...)
...Space full of farts...

It's been a long time
Thirty-eight years ago
It was September
NBC first aired that show

And now I've seen my dream finally die at last
It fell from the sky
And they're not gonna bring the magic back
No they can't save The Enterprise

Star Trek's just space
Full of farts
It's nothing but space-farts on TV

It's run out
Of ideas
It can't do
Anything

Long ago
It had Bones
And Scotty drinkin' some green whiskey
It could reach
Any star...

Now it's space
(it's space)
(it's space)
(it's space)
(it's spa-a-a-ace...)
...Space full of farts...

The show has grown so old...now on this latest ship,
We see T'Pol's appeal...she peels it off for Trip
No Vulcan desire can stop their ratings-slip
There's no more time...

Star Trek's just space
Full of farts
It's nothing but space-farts on TV

It's run out
Of ideas
It can't do
Anything

Even though,
They did show,
That foxy Vulcan babe jump Trip's bones
They could not
Save their arse...

Star Trek's space
(Trek's space)
(Trek's space)
(Trek's space)
(Trek's spa-a-a-ace...)
...Space full of farts...

I knew that series was in trouble when I heard that stupid song.

Johnny D - Last I remember you were still trying to like this show. Guess you have also decided it's full of the wrong type of hot air. Of course I might plug my own "They're Lost In Space" here. A lot of you might not know the original there "This Is The Place" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I think it's a good read, anyway, though. JD - 5's

Thanks Paul ...... I saw the recent episode where that foxy Vulcan Subcommander T'Pol stripped naked and literally jumped Trip's bones (yes, she grabbed him and took physical control of the situation in her Vulcan birthday suit, I'm not kidding) to obtain direct personal experience of Human sexuality (that's pretty much how she rationalized it later). Call me old fashioned or something, but that was pretty much the last straw ...... not that I'm a prude - one glance at my parody catalog will prove I'm anything but - but to see the writers, directors, and producers of "Enterprise" resort to Vulcan-initiated-inter-species-sexual-intercourse was all the proof I needed to be convinced that THEY themselves think the show is on its last space-legs.....

......but I must admit, Jolene Blalock has a lovely body.

Okay, I voted, quit monitoring. The big problem I had with the show was it's look and not sticking to being "in between" the classic Trek and TNG. They should have played it for camp, with "in between " effects and sets. Instead, it looks very advanced, and they run into all sorts of things that Picard should have had a record of. That and sticking ears on Seven of Nine and calling it a Vulcan.

She has ears? Next time I'll try real hard to look higher than her chest.

And thanks for your vote.....who's monitoring? Hey, watch out, Rick, your mouse-hand almost knocked over that can of Diet Coke.

I had to knock you for a couple pacing errors Johnny, but it was good...I actually like the show, but I'm a die-hard Trek fan and I even went to see the last bomb, Nemesis, in the theaters...it's just a show that you really have to be a fan of to appreciate, which is why they're in trouble, but with this season's mid-year quasi-cliffhanger, I think they're almost in the right direction. It also took TNG and DS9 almost three seasons to get on track so I think this one needs a bit of patience too...I hope they don't cancel it and give it one more shot.

JD - I have thought of doing this song for a while. Glad you did it. Very well done at that. I like this version of Trek and also hate to see it go. Hope the cliff hanger ends tonight. Have not checked TV listings to see if we are going to get an encore episode or an "all new" one. But I really think the series is on it's last legs. I really think the Sulabon are behind what is going on this entire season.

And Rick D, maybe Picard has no record of things because of the Sulabon. Take note that the Sulabon are a brand new species that have never been portrayed before in any Trek version. I believe that they will fade away with an overwritten time line somehow. ie, the giant Star Trek eraser.

Rice Cube - thanks - and believe it or not, this parody notwithstanding, I still occasionally watch "Enterprise" and still find it entertaining....but I don't make it a point to catch every episode and follow the series closely week-to-week anymore.....however, I admit, I will probably enjoy watching re-runs! I agree that it might - if it's not canceled - pick up its pace and hit its stride later - we shall see.... I hope it does.

Guy - thank you, too - and you know, Guy, I think you've hit the latnum nail on the head......remember the "Dallas" episode where one of the main characters was killed-off, and then at the start of the next season it was revealed that the previous season had all been a dream? I think you're onto something here, Guy........ I wouldn't be surprised at all if the writers of "Enterprise" pull off a Deus-Ex-Machina ploy and use overwritten time-lines to adjust (into harmony with the Kirk-Picard-Sisko-Janeway "Canon") everything that Rick points out in his comment......we shall see!

Rats - They had back to back reruns on last night. Guess the cliffhanger goes on for at least another week.

Johnny D - It sounds very much like they read my parody and decided to follow my possible plot scenario ("Have T'pol hop in the hay with Trip & Reed for a three-way")...frightening! I could be writing for this show with my worst joke joke ideas... But just in case that episode ever gets re-run, can you tell about how far into it T'Pol shed her inhibitions and Star-Fleet uniform? Inquiring minds need a boost now and then...
Johnny D - March 26, 2004 - Report this comment
Paul Robinson - the Vulcan/Human copulation occurred approximately 2/3 to 3/4 of the way into that episode. They give you a good look at T'Pol's back, and her front above the Vulcan glandular region. I don't recall if they gave a side-view of the Vulcan mammarial epidermal curve - but in one or two other episodes in the series they sure did.

Pretty good. 444. I´ve come to expect more from you and it is putting down a show that my jury´s partly still out on (though right not at the end of season 2 it´s getting real bad) so I´m holding back a little on funny and I´m with Rice Cube on pacing (and I hope his comment is prophetical, another babe entering the ship for season 4 could turn heads... I mean ratings around.)

Thanks, K1chyd. The ironic thing about my Enterprise-trashing parodies is that I personally do not hate the show. I have a few minor issues with it, that's all, but I personally actually do like it. I like to write Enterprise-trashing parodies as a stupidly ridiculous exaggeration of my minor dislikes, and also because so many other people seem to dislike it much more than I do! ;-)

Yeah! Me too. I have a lot of Star Trek Parodies, some of them a bit dissing, in my portfolio here. And it´s partly wrong of us to, as many of us sometimes do, give 7 of 9 all the credit for turning Voyager around. I think that at least 50 % of the credit for that should be given to the scriptwriter(s) that realised that the Doctor should work better than Neelix as the comedical sidekick and therefore lifted his part and lowered Neelix´s. BTW: I´ve given each of those two a parody. Overkill plug or not, here are both URLs:
