The Lyrics

Drumroll, please! Only four before me reached 500 parodies: William Tong, Malcolm Higgins, Guy DiRito and Rick Duncan. It truly is a magic circle, and I'm proud to have jerked my way in. Most of you only know this song (written by Diane Warren) for one verse, but there's more to it. May Amiright live long and prosper... so I can get the next 500 up! (Never let it be said that I couldn't get it up!)
It's been a long road
grinning from ear to ear.
It's been a long time
but this song is finally here.
And I will see the milestone up here at last.
You can kiss this guy.
And they're not gonna give me ones no more!
No, they're not gonna change my style!

'Cause I've got five... hundred songs
goin' on the board that's funny!
I've got five... hundred ways
I can laugh while I sing!
I've got pop, rock and soul
songs to make you laugh now, honey!
I'm a par...ody star!

I've got five (He's got fives)
I've got five (He's got fives)
Five hundred songs!

It's been a long type
fingers click the night away.
Been on the keyboard
at this music game we play.
And I will see the milestone up here at last.
You can kiss this guy.
And they're not gonna give me ones no more!
No, they're not gonna change my style!

'Cause I've got five... hundred songs
goin' on the board that's funny!
I've got five... hundred ways
I can laugh while I sing!
I've got pop, rock and soul
songs to make you laugh now, honey!
I'm a par...ody star!

I've got five (He's got fives)
I've got five (He's got fives)
Five hundred songs!

I know the jokes are old.
I know I need fresh meat.
But now the winds I feel
are breaking oh-so-sweet.
Bush's pants on fire.
Baseball gives me pain.
But now I'm typing, oh yeah...

'Cause I've got five... hundred songs
goin' on the board that's funny!
I've got five... hundred ways
I can laugh while I sing!
I've got pop, rock and soul
songs to make you laugh now, honey!
I'm a par...ody star!

I've got five (He's got fives)
I've got five (He's got fives)
Five hundred songs!

Congrats Michael! May you have 5 hundred 5s for this song. Good choice for a milestone song.

Congratulations, President Pacholek, on your handslide erection, er, I mean, landslide election, into The Amiright 500 Club! As parody writers' cataLOGS go, yours is bigger than most.

It's quite a feat to reach this milestone. The thing that kept me going is knowing someone else had done it. I expect we'll have more company in the coming year. I figure a good number to stop at is 666.

Rick D stop at 666? The hell he will. Besides, that's Barney the Purple Dinosaur's number, as we all know ------

Thank you, everyone, especially Guy and Rick, since Malcolm and Tong are so far ahead none of us is likely to catch them, therefore third place is a goal. Rick: Maybe for Parody No. 666, you can do one for "Hell's Bells," and I can do one for "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" -- it'll have to be better than my previous "The Devil Rays, South of Georgia." God only knows what Guy will do for No. 666. Johnny: My catalog is so large, it needs a garage, and is six feet when copies are stacking. I push envelope like 'twas Mexican dope, never mind that good taste has been lacking.
