"WHY???"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

A very sad and depressing parody about getting old and feeling forsaken...
Got a cell phone
It seldom rings
At celebrations
No gifts… nothing

Got a home
No one at the door
I loved to party
But no one’s on the floor

I loved to cook
But I now eat alone
At restaurants
Or at my home

(Chorus)
Memories of a distant past
Happiness that seldom lasts
Forever asking God- WHY???
Silence kills the heart- I cry
I struggle just
To stay alive
But deep down inside
I just wanna die…

WHY, WHY, WHY???
WHY, WHY, WHY???
GOD, GOD, GOD
YOU MAKE ME CRY, CRY, CRY!!!

I had a family
They’re all gone
Friends the same,
No, not one

Loved my job
Enjoyment’s not the same
My life was filled (with love)
But now only pain remains

I often have sleepless nights
I feel often too weak to fight
To fight, to fight
For life…

Memories of a distant past
Happiness that seldom lasts
Forever asking God- WHY???
Silence kills the heart- I cry
I struggle just
To stay alive
But deep down inside
I just wanna die…

WHY, WHY, WHY???
WHY, WHY, WHY???
GOD, GOD, GOD
YOU MAKE ME CRY, CRY, CRY!!!

Memories of a distant past
Happiness that seldom lasts
Forever asking God- WHY???
Silence kills the heart- I cry
I struggle just
To stay alive
But deep down inside
I just wanna die…

WHY, WHY, WHY???
WHY, WHY, WHY???
GOD, GOD, GOD
YOU MAKE ME CRY, CRY, CRY!!!

WHY???
DEAR GOD,
WHY???

I don't know if feeling old and being old are the same thing, but being in poor shape and over 35 pounds overweight (for a picky eater even) and a borderline diabetic, I feel pretty old too, :-(. So I can sympathize with you on this fine parody! 5's! :-)

My dad died at age 44 of leukemia and yet my mom who died much later of complications of diabetes and heart problems at age 61 looked like she was 81. It was due to both disease and stress. What was worst for her and many people is not the pain of dying but the loneliness when everyone abandons them. I was there for my mom but worked a f/t job as well. I couldn't be there all the time and she freaked out being alone. Now I am dying and the same thing has happened. I could care less about the pain each day, but being alone is hard and dangerous. Some have lots of people around them prior to death while others have no one. Seems unfair, so the inevitable question of WHY? emerges at some point- whether directed at God or the world, family, etc...

You know what I say about 1-bombing Rob, "Even a vacuum cleaner has a reason that it sucks" ;). But I don't think that your parody does. :) 555!
