The Lyrics

This spoof is a sequel of sorts to the original song. In 2002, Simple Plan lead singer Pierre Bouvier said that he would do anything to get the girl. Twelve years later, the girl has thought of how exactly he can prove his love. Original Song
A dozen years, quickly gone by
Thought of that song you wrote one time
About your love
And I’ve been thinking...

So I, I wrote this list...it’s in my head
With many things to prove what you meant
You want my love?
You’ll have to earn it!

Throw some bees right down your pants, then hug a big cactus! Yeah!

You said ‘anything’!
Want to hold me in your arms?
If you just wax your back
Maybe I could let you hear me laugh
You said ‘anything’!
Why not make out with your shoe
Then when you brush your teeth...
Maybe then I will wink at you

Don’t yell at me, you made that tune
Now I hope you feel like a fool
Tattoo your face
Then maybe we’ll chat

Hey now, list is so long, all these years
You want to kiss me? Listen here...
You will fear
What I have written

Find a mean, big biker man, and kick him in the nads
And I’ll say that you could maybe hold my hand, yeah

You said ‘anything’!
Carve my name into your arm
Take out a Craigslist ad
Giving away everything you have
You said ‘anything’!
You want me to sleep with you?
Try number thirty-three:
It involves your nose and hot glue

I realize
All of these things are cruel
Open your eyes
Don’t try to sleep, ‘cause it will scare you!
Ha-ha-ha, ha-ha-ha
But you said ‘anything’, it’s true!
Ha-ha-ha, ha-ha-ha-haaaa!

You said ‘anything’!
Boy, you mustn’t be that smart
Wish you could take it back
But right now your love is put to the test
You said ‘anything’!
So that I would sleep with you
Want me to sleep with you!?
You do!? HA!

You said ‘anything’!
Hear this Miley Cyrus tune
That’s the final thing
But, I can’t be that cruel!
Almost anything
Instead, dye your skin blue
You said ‘anything’!
Let me know, so much you must do!

Nice twist on the original song. I love these kind of ideas. This was a great list of super evil things to make somebody do to earn your love. Hopefully your love is worth it.

Now that's cruel and unusual. Especially the last verse, that's a violation of the Geneva Convention.

(Artistry) And this is why hyperboles are bad, kids. Eventually someone's gonna call your bluff. Fantastic parody, 555!

For some reason, this didn't grab me. Maybe former knowledge of the song would have helped. But still this parody just semed random.

(Artistry) This topic was pretty broad, which is a very tactical way to write a spoof. You could literally put anything you wanted into the song and it would make sense (and yes I said "anything" lol!) I'm on the fence here. One the one hand, it worked in a lot of ways, you had a lot of funny things in here, but it didn't feel cohesive to me. I liked it overall, but I don't think it gelled the way it should. Maybe a stronger story would've brought it together more.
