The Lyrics

Go ahead as you waste your days with drinking
When you crawl into a bin
'nother day and you're high and you are stinking
With your knife cutting up your
Hands are growing mold
These hands are not made of gold

Go away, when all your drugs are way too strong
Don't prolong, don't prolong, rehab: it's taboo
And even when your dope is gone
Don't prolong, don't prolong so you get your food
Don't prolong
Don't prolong

So a day when you've lost your mind completely
Will be the night when your life ends
Your bad heart will lead to early deceasing
All your pain is in your
Hands are growing old
Your hands are still full of mold

Go away, when all your drugs are way too strong
Don't prolong, don't prolong, rehab: it's taboo
And even when your dope is gone
Don't prolong, don't prolong so you get your food
Don't prolong
Don't prolong

(background music)
come on, come on, come on, come on

When everything is wrong, do not prolong
come on, come on, come on, come on
When everything is wrong, do not prolong
Prolong, prolong, prolong

When your date is way too strong
Don't prolong, don't prolong, rehab: it's taboo
And even when your dope is gone
Don't prolong, don't prolong so you get your food
[x3]

don't prolong
come on, come on, come on, come on
Brokeback Mounatin is wrong
So don't prolong

(SOTM) Drugs *are* bad, mm-kay? :) But what does Brokeback Mountain have to do with it?
FiFi - September 12, 2006 - Report this comment
Brokeback Mountain had absolutly nothing to do with drugs, but after seeing it, i needed rehab :)

(SOTM) Sorry, but this parody is way too repetitive, and uses too many of the original lyrics, in my opinion. But great attempt, though. Great song choice. 333

(SOTM) Uhhhhh. I don't know what to make of this. Way too few subs, and with the subject matter, it reads like a PSA! Not that funny. I suggest you try to vary the lines more, a little variation goes a long way.

(SOTM) Ehh Ill give you 5 for pacing, 534 maybe

(SOTM) I lost interest pretty quick on this one. I think I have a problem tying the problem to the conclusion drawn. It read well I think, but the substance (abuse) was lacking.

(SOTM) I got lost somewhere while trying not to prolong ... I like the OS but half of your parody uses the original lines or a large portion of them. Several lines have only one or two words changed.

(SOTM) Keep trying, keep writing ... try going for more variation in choruses.

(SOTM) You're lucky I DKTOS, so I can't say anything else about your work. But the other guys have said all that you need to hear anyway. Keep writing...

I didn't think it was all that bad, but it seems to be suggesting suicide. Not so sure about THAT as a solution! 544. -- MM

SOTM - Hmm... I think I would have used a title like "don't prolong" for an anti-spam parody, you know themewise kinda like "who are you people that actually buy penis enlargment pills? Don't fall for such crap you morons!". Or something like that.
Stuart McArthur - September 28, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) interesting, and interesting choice for SOTM - not really funny enough to get SOTM votes, and a little repetitive, but good to see new SOTM entrants Fifi - keep submitting - 555

(SOTM) I don't think I remember us EVER having a Rejects' OS in SOTM...and this month we've got TWO. While I concur with my esteemed colleague, Mr McArthur...this is a fine, fine job, fifi. Keep writing and submitting- you've obviously got talent. 555

Not bad, I agree with the comments about it being repetitive. Good first stab at SOTM.

I didn't think it was that great. Your syllabics were pretty off also. Good try though.
