The Lyrics

I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of this song, so don't start complaining that I'm out of line writing this, I did it because simply listening to the lyrics of this particular song, he uses a lot of the same words to rhyme with themselves, and if you notice I've made it that he gets rather cocky about himself near the end..... Bob Rivers and MADTV mock other artists and this is simply what I wanted to do. If you don't like it then thats "over my head" - hahaha, a lil joke on the album name..... enjoy
Step one you say we need a song
I'll talk, I know it helped to set the song
I wrote a moving backing tune
That played on quietly right on through
When the beat then builds up in the back
It seems the lyrics seem to lack
With every line ending the same
Guess I'll use the same words once again

When I wrote this song, I needed help
Somehow I made it by myself
I can use them once, I'll use them twice
Cause I know how to save a line

After that bleak chorus burst
I'm back to talk the second ver-erse
If I slip up, I'll convert
To adding extra syllebels
I pray you miss how I stumble
I hide it well cause I mumble
And pray to God noone knew, might as well repeat this line too

And when I wrote this song, I know I tend
To use the same words ryhming the end
Though I wrote it wrong, it turned out right
Cause I know how to save a line

Critics may disdain my voice
My clashing chords, frankly have no choice
Make a moving video
That fills them all with sorrow
You heard me try my singing
Though it's kind of nas-all-ly
But I can say, that I'll make it big
Cause I'm on your mu-sic stations quite a bit

And I know this song, goes to my head
I won a gram-mer, couldn't care less
I got my song up, on "SCRUBS" tonight
Cause I know how to save a line

I'm, who makes this song, I'm Isaac Slade
They say I sound just like Coldplay
That won't keep me up, awake all night
Cause I know how to save a line

How to save a line, how to save a line

Just when you would think, the song would end
I came back with the chorus again
I could keep it up, all through the night
Cause I know how to save a line

When I wrote this song, I made a load
Thanks to U2 and Counting Crows
Double platinum song, is reaching heights
Cause I know how to save a line

How to save a line, how to save a line, how to save a line
Be kind!!!! It's funny in my sort of humourous way!!!

This is funny, I like how it breaks the fourth wall. Great job!

It's funny, but I don't think it would fit with the music well. There's too many words. Good job though! By the way, you don't think Isaac's that cocky, do you?

Not bad man. I liked how it was a critique of the song itself but it all seemed a little forced at points. But definitely a great and entertaining effort.
