The point's to get school spirit up high for a sports bout

Attendance seems high at the pep rallies that I've seen, not quite what I'd expect
Maybe my background is why I'm shocked, good shot it's true
Cared not one jot for other schools dunking baskets

What kinda life would it be to have to file in, be force-fed a show
To make you care about football or some other kinda thing? I, I wouldn't know
School was just a building with friends inside
Name rarely did come up, just paperwork tripe, pure paperwork tripe

The whole concept is wild to me, "pep rally" feels kinda nuts but I must admit
That's just my likely biased-ass thoughts, I'm just confused
