Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"VE-DAY"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

Parody of a parody X18!
V’s for valiant, they showed no fear,
E’s for European, the theater,
D’s for destruction, rubble not cleared,
A’s for the armies that conquered German cities,
Y’s for the young pretties, treated by Red troops like whores

Just kept coming back for more

VE-DAY end of war long overdue,
VE-DAY Nazi fall was so huge
London and Moscow heaven, no miracle V-Weapon
From ‘43 Reich was doomed

V’s for vanquished foe, now down to stay,
E’s for enemy once feared that hunted prey,
D’s for “Da!” exclaimed by Red troops in full fury,
A’s for Allies, that rained down bombs nearly everyday,
Y’s for yearning to beat the fascists by the Russian horde

Marshall Zhukov now so much adored

VE-DAY Jews had languished… were abused,
VE-DAY brought them all the best of news
and there came bigger news: German SS had been so cruel;
VE-DAY revealed Aryan “rule”

VE-DAY- fanatics proven fools
VE-DAY nailed Gestapo ghouls
German defeat big news; Fuhrer too, through mouth he shot
VE-DAY, Doenitz aims refused*
(full surrender blow bad news)

Hitler gave up, Germans lose

Fatherland split into two…
*Doenitz initially tried to negotiate for conditional surrender and a return of the Kriegsmarine U-boats to German ports. He signed for unconditional surrender and all German U-boats had to surrender to the nearest Allied warship or port of the Allies choosing

Rob - As a history fan, I really liked this. Line by line fact upon fact it's all here. Where else can you find Georgy Zhukov and Karl Doenitz in the same parody? The last line rings like a sentence of doom. ;D
