Nahuatl is one of the common languages of the Aztecs. In Nahuatl "vemana" means an offering.

Yeah, that's right. A human sacrifice parody. I went there. In some cases it actually was considered an honor, and the ultimate act of true altruism. Something I found super interesting. Probably my favorite Gaga song, and a great topic to go with! A lot of great rhymes in here...though it would have been cool to get the "hu-" in human to match up with the "you" in You and I - but that might be hard to do. A bit nit-picky, but this was really fun to read and a solid piece of parody.

(Artistry) I honestly don't know how to feel about this one. I mean, I'm all for being blasé about violence in parodies, but this was just played a bit too straight for me. That and it was a bit hard to pace the Aztec names without a guide (kinda weird how you explained Nahuatl and Vemana and then not have them show up). The pacing was spot on, but otherwise this just left me in the cold, sorry to say.
No apology necessary, buddy! I totally get where you're coming from and I knew that's the response I could get when I wrote it. Honestly I'm surprised no one said anything to this point. You're right, it is very violent and graphic, but I wanted to explore the idea of social conceits and how perceptions change over time. We only think it's savage because our society tells us it was barabaric, but back then it was a part of daily life. And offering yourself as a sacrifice to the gods during wartime was considered the ultimate act of altruism in some cases. Sacrificing yourself to save your entire tribe or even your entire race. I thought it would be an interesting g thing to explore and open up a fun dialog for us. As for the Nahuatl, I was just riffing on the title of the OS having the diaeresis above the "u" for no apparent reason other than style. That's why I titled it Vemana instead. Just to add an extra joke in their. ;) Respect, my parody brother!
I found this to be in poor taste. It's not funny at all and the pacing is off. 1-1-1
I agree with T-Cop in not knowing how to pronounce a lot of these words especially: "Huitzilopochtli". Not a bad idea topic-wise but I didn't find a lot of gut busting humor in this one.
