The Lyrics

Hear I am waiting, my turn to sing soon
Why is my mouth so dry?
So many people here, wish I had drank more beer
Where is my paper bag?
Sweaty palms, cold feet, racing heart
And I'm tryin not to hurl
Cannot breathe, got the shakes, and the walls are closing in

Cause I've got stage fright, I feel all alone
And the words are getting stuck in my throat
Cause I've got stage fright up here on my own
I'm too scared to try and hit the high notes
Oh-woah, oh-woah, oh-woah
Oh-no, oh-no, oh-no

Here I am curled up, fetal position
What if I, fall off the stage?
What if nobody laughs and Luke gives me the shaft
What if my fly is down
What if I pass gas? What if I'm
Wearing skin tight jeans and you see
I'm "awake", awkward, think I'd hyperventilate

And I've got stage fright, I've got butterflies
Now I'm standing like a deer in headlights
Cause I've got stage fright I forgot my lines
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah high notes
Oh-woah, oh-woah, oh-woah
Oh-no, oh-no, oh-no

If the crowd starts throwing fruit, I know that I'm gonna take a shellin, watermelon!
I took a trip to the doc, got some advice for my act, enjoy the track, and just relax

I've still got stage fright, but I'm not alone
Cause I got some good advice from old pros
When I have stage fright up here on my own
I start picturing the crowd with no clothes

And I've got stage fright, but I'm not alone
And I can't wait till I do my next show
Yes I've got stage fright up here on my own
And tonight I'm gonna hit those high notes
Oh-woah, oh-woah, oh-woah
Oh-woah, oh-woah, oh-woah
Oh-woah (yeah), oh-woah (yeah), oh-woah (yeah)
Oh-woah (yeah), oh-woah (yeah), oh-woah (yeah)!

Jeff - A most descriptive parody. My nerves are as good as always, but I've developed a horrible shake in unfamiliar and high-pressure situations. Old Age I guess. Fine job. ;D

Very fun Jeff. I enjoyed the 'past work' references, like 'fly is down' and 'skin(ny) tight jeans' :c). Very good.

Nice work! I really like the OS, and I can definitely relate to this. Great job

Sorry for the late comment, but I got tremors from fear I'd make a typoh...

Relating so hard I'm practically getting flashbacks of every stage performance I've ever been in - ESPECIALLY the singing ones! A definite 555.

(SOTM) Great parody here, I especially loved the "blah blah blah" line, that was genius. I imagine if this got recorded you wouldn't do too many takes so as to get the appropriate shakiness (if that makes sense...which I'm sure it doesn't). 555!

Even better on the reread. Very funny and 'take a shelling/watermelon' stood out this time

(SOTM) I loved this! I thought it was clever and well written. I've never really been prone to stage fright, but I totally understand why it's terrifying for some.

Nerves can get the best of us, still you delivered a good performance with this piece.

Hilarious! I would love to see this one performed! Stage fright gets the best of all of us
