The Lyrics

The title of this parody could just as well have been "Dilbert comics are really fun", the idea kinda started out that way, but as writing proceeded and the other lines fell into place I couldn't help but notice how out of tune such a title would be with the rest of the song (except maybe for the two lines after the solo). It might also have contributed that I started writing the whole damn thing during the gloaming hours of a long vacation and that I'm pretty much kind of a cubicle worker myself these days.

A YouTube version of the original song can currently be found here.
Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun
Tell me where the work gets done
The pointy haired boss is really dumb
And that Wally just hangs around

Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun
Alice stomping means cut and run
The C.E.O is a real loose gun
And Dogbert's feeding on everyone

It's just hell all day
As was yesterday
Don't know why they stay
With what personnel will pay

Think iPersonnel
With MySpace type clientele
Minecrafting with cereal

(Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun)

They're not at Intel
I don't think it's working well
Management is outta hell

(Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun)

Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun
Ratbert's IQ is off and gone
When the Elbonian sales are on
Dirty bad biz is what gets done

Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun
The robot man is the smartest one
Another product just hit the brown
And the network is always down

They're like living dead
Even loudmouth Ted
Watch them turn a head
To the bullshit bingo spread

Think iGadgetry
From boredom and apathy
Brought to you drawn affably

(Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun)

They're all supervised
Their products are overpriced
Catbert got their souls in heist

(Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun)

SOLO

The daily strip's a comic - thoroughbred
Everyone who reads - have a laughter up ahead

Think iEngineers
With Asok the volunteer
Interned there for twenty years

(Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun)

They're employable
With tasks ungoogleable
Stuck inside a project hell

(Dilbert's cubicle's not that fun)

Dilbert's cubicle
Dilbert's cubicle
Dilbert's cubicle
Dilbert's cubicle

Small nitpick, you left out evil Catbert! But you did include the Elbonians 555!

Thanks for the fives but Catbert's in there - "Catbert got their souls in heist" if you care to check. I did however leave out the Garbage Man and replaced him with Robot Man as the last change - Have you noticed how Robot Man has replaced the former Quantum Theorist turned Garbage Man as the smartest person in the comic?

Also, Robot Man is the lone star of Scott Adam's side-comic "Robots Read The News" that (except for one or two strips so far) only appears on his blog. Fans of Dilbert might wanna check it out - do a google picture search and you'll find them that way.

Peter, Catbert is indeed in there! Must have overlooked that line. Sorry. I don't read the comics in newspapers anymore because I cancelled mine. I watch CNN and get auto updates on my cell for news.
