Verse: I found this show online it’s old
But I think is real sweet
They warp, they beam, enchant my dreams
I love, watching the Star Fleet
Explore all of space, befriend every race
Ad-venture is their goal
Want to join the fray, I know Spock would say
That is illogical…

Chorus: I came out as a Trekkie dude!
The other guys will think I’m cool
I’ll walk the halls in my yellow wool
I just want to be a Tre-e-ekkie
I’m a, a Tre-e-ekkie…

Verse 2: To school no fear with pointy ears
Hey guys, guess who’s Dr. Spock?
They point and laugh on my behalf
And now, the joking never stops
I felt Star Fleet’s creed could apply to me
All live long and prosper
They weren’t my allies, that’s the reason why
I’m stuck in my locker

Chorus: They said that I’m a Trekkie fool!
And since then it’s been Hell at school
Like the Klingons kids are very cruel
I just wished to be a, Tre-e-ekkie
I came in dressed as Captain Kirk
The other kids were being jerks
I thought this’d be a charming quirk
All they ever do is de-e-eck me
So they, they pi-ick on me…

Bridge: I never meant to start a war
I just wanted to express my view
Didn’t know what was in store
Maybe I should be just like you
I never meant to go this far
I just wanted you to let me in
Maybe I should just let you win…

I was just myself, and nobody else
Why would I want to be you?

Chorus: So suck it, I’m a Trekkie Fool!
I don’t give a Spock if I am cool
Now I live by my own set of rules
I don’t care if you de-te-e-est me!
Go Kirk off, I’m a Trekkie Fool!
I play with phasers in the pool
And in summer wear my Star Fleet wool
All I ask is you re-Tre-e-ked me
Bitch, I’m a Tre-e-ekkie
Yeah I’m a Tre-e-ekkie…

(SOTM) Interestingly written parody, due to the poignant very sincere bridge. I am not sure if it was you or the singer who incorrectly thinks that Spock is a doctor (there was one IRL who wrote a book on childcare...)

Not bad. I kinda sorta like the OS, so this was fun to sing along to. However, a while ago I wrote a parody called "I've Heard of Star Wars" telling of my lack of knowledge for that series...I know even less about Star Trek haha. Luckily none of the references were too over my head, so this was still a nice spoof.

(SOTM) Although they prefer to call themselves "Trekkers" now, they'll always be Trekkies to me.
Voyager - December 23, 2013 - Report this comment
Hey Charlie Brown, you blockhead, "Trekker" came first since TOS! Your preference for "Trekkie" is fine, but get your facts straight. The fandom invented the terms, not GR and his decision to go with "Trekkie" is irrelevent to the fans. Some even go under "Trek Fan" or weird "Trekkar" (possibly by the same gang of fools that call "Star Trek", "Star Tra(c)k" ?!? WTH???

For some reason I found the double use of inventive trek trivia invectives, i.e "I don’t give a Spock" and "go Kirk off" in the last verse to be funny - yeah, that's what I did Klingon to in this parody...

(SOTM) Funny yet heartwarming at the same time, definitely one of your best, even if Spock isn't a doctor (though he's usually called Mister Spock, which fits, so no problem there). 555!

I would have liked to see you doing more with the whole Trekkie thing but still this was well done and was also a very heartwarming and very nostalgic! I liked it! Beam me up Blaydeman!

Fun song, I've always enjoyed the shows, although I can't say I've dressed the part yet!

I wonder how I missed this back when? Retro 555! Btw, agree that Trekker is correct. Gene invented the concepts but ST fans invented the terms Trekker and Trekkie. The fact that Gene later endorsed Trekkie is irrelevant. I still get annoyed when I hear even older folks say "Star Trak" like fools! Never did cosplay for ST but if I did I would be a Breen. Their story has never really been told, even outside TNG and Voyager. Read the book "Typhon Pact: Zero Sum Game."

See Above: I still don't know that much about Star Trek, but this was a fun read. I think it'd be funny to have like a showdown in the bridge with the high school group of Star Wars fans...and that leads to the ultimate battle between the two fandoms. Overall, still good work!
Rob Arndt - February 24, 2016 - Report this comment
That kind of fandom battle doesn't exist anymore. Everyone is into comics and sci-fi. The old rivalries have given way to comradeship. For example: I like Star Trek, Star Wars, BSG, and Firefly. Comics? Marvel, DC, and Independent. It's better that way and the Cosplay is very diversified now, men and women, more adults than kids!
