The Lyrics

This old man takes being a grouchy old man to a whole new level! And he really hates 1D.
Verse 1: I’ve tried playing it cool
When they’re getting’ off of school
They walk over my land
But my sign says that’s banned
Shotgun’s loaded and prepped
If they take one step
They keep crushing my plants
With quaffed hair and tight pants
Something’s gotta give now
Cuz they’re destroying my property
And I swear I’ll let the dogs out
Cuz I hate dem young kids

Chorus: So get off, get off, get off of my lawn!
Cuz right by the road there’s sidewalks
I won’t, I won’t, won’t stand and watch this
Cuz I hate dem young kids!
Did you see what they did?!

Verse 2: Now dem young’uns throw trash
So I’ll kick juvenile ass!
Am I going out of my mind?
Do they think I’m blind?
Someone’s gotta die now!
Cuz I’m tired of these childish games
And I’ll make a solemn stern vow
That I’ll kill dem young kids!

Chorus: So come on, come on, come walk through my yard
But I doubt you’ll make it too far
I set, I set, set some booby traps
That will snare you young kids!
Go on, go on, go fall to your death
And come on and take your last breath
You could, you could, could fall on some spikes
That I made for young kids
Cuz I hate you young kids!

[All young kids fall victim to assorted booby traps]
Bridge: Oh…..
Oh, no…..
I don’t see young kids
Young kids, young kids, young kids disappeared?
They were last seen on my land? Weird

Chorus: But I don’t, I don’t, I don’t have a clue
Where those young kids have run off to
I don’t, I don’t, don’t know where they are
They’re not in my backyard
So cop, so cop, so cop go along
They are not underneath my lawn
I hope, I hope, they’re not hurt, forbid!
Please don’t be so morbid
Cuz I love dem young kids!

This is actually really funny! I like how instead of sticking to a lot of similar lines within the song you've turned it on it's head, hahaha! Good job! (:

One Direction is a really cool up and coming band. I haven't parodied any of their work yet but I've been meaning to. They've were in Orlando a couple weeks ago and I really wanted to meet them. This is a really fun parody and I can totally hear an old man complaining to One Direction this way.

Liked this one a lot - reminds me of many a grumpy old man (although maybe not with the whole 'maiming and killing kids' thing) A definite 555 :)

Y/Z – Blayde, putting myself squarely into the persona of the singer of the parody…I had, till now, managed to avoid everything to do with One Direction apart from knowing that they were the current girlies-wet-your-pants-for-us-pretty-boy-band. See - I am the song’s persona, personified! Having had that rant, I have to say that the OS wasn’t as bad as I had feared. Shame to see that some of their sight gags in the video were blatant copies of The Monkees’ antics, but it was probably figured no-one my age would notice (or could still see that well). Oops, it’s so easy to slip into that persona isn’t it? It’s actually a lot of fun, heh heh.

Back to the parody, I thought it very good, lots of good lines. I particularly liked “Go on, go on, go fall to your death, And come on and take your last breath”.

I can't wait to be like this when I get older! Won't be long now.

My first exposure to um, 1D as well, and better than expected (although the line with the song title sounds too much like "I Want It That Way"!). I echo the sentiment that the character was ironically appropriate-- and add quite creepy by the last verse.

As much as I don't want to admit it, I find 1D songs to be quite catchy. I wouldn't call myself a fan, but this song and "What Makes You Beautiful" are Ok in my book. That said, I thought this spoof was hilarious. I liked how you used the bridge to use as screams and stuff like that...great work here!

My favorite line is "Please don’t be so morbid"

I love 1D and I reckon that this parody is awesome. Almost as good as the original, but if I didn't love 1D so much it would probably be better.😉
