The Lyrics

Let me get this straight: Alex Rodriguez, the $252 Million Man, the Great Sham-bino, could have played for either America or the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic... he chose to play for America... America did not make it to the Semifinals, due to some embarrassing losses, including two in which A-Rod came to bat in the ninth inning and did not get a hit... and the Dominicans made it to the Semifinals? Maybe it's time to discuss whether there is a Curse of A-Rod!
Here I stand, bat in hand
face the left-field wall.
Is it gone? No, no, that's wrong.
Feeling two foot sma-a-all...

Everywhere people swear
every time I play.
I can see them scream at me
and I hear them say-ay-ay...

Hey!
You've got to hide A-Rod away!
Hey!
You've got to hide A-Rod away!

They say I just don't try.
I can never win.
Always choke, that's the joke
that I'm living i-i-in...

How could we so badly
in this Classic play?
Gather 'round, fellow clowns!
Let me hear you say-ay-ay...

Hey!
You've got to hide A-Rod away!
Hey!
You've got to hide A-Rod away!

(instrumental fadeout... just like A-Rod whenever it counts)

This parody is short and sweet, unlike the WBC run of the United States, which was short and rancid. You will not be penalized for not attributing the OS (I hope most people know the artists whose performance this is based on).

I'm willing to go up to the plate and not get hits for half of what A-Rod makes. The only time you can call A-Rod "Mr. Clutch" is when he's driving a car with a standard transmission.

I thought this was going to be about the need to carry a concealed weapon. (Wanna do a sequel on that? Feel free :) What John and Rex said. Five strikes.

I think you forgot the performer name. It's the Beatles, right?
Michael Pacholek - March 19, 2006 - Report this comment
Yes, I did forget to list the performer, although John Lennon's is the only voice on the recording. The difference is, when I strike out on Amiright, there are far fewer people watching, and I'm not getting paid an obscene amount of money to do otherwise -- or any amount of money, for that matter. Lucky for Chucky: If he paid us (at least, most of us) based on performance, he'd go broke real fast.
