The Lyrics

An update of the parody of "Alouette" done by the Sultan of Salami. Hey, if "Based on the performance by Weird Al Yankovic" is allowed, why not the Weird Al of his time?
Al 'n' Yetta always sit togetta
watching TV every single night
watching anything they wish
on their big satellite dish.
(What they wish!) What they wish!
(Satellite dish!) Satellite dish!
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)

Al 'n' Yetta couldn't have it betta
with picture-in-picture and HDTV.
So they both can stay in bed
with MTV and Mister Ed.
(Mister Ed!) Stay in bed!
(What they wish!) Satellite dish!
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)

Al 'n' Yetta, fans o' David Letta-
man and Jay Leno on late-night TV.
They just found in TV Guide,
"Who Wants to Be Justin's Bride"?
(Justin's bride!) TV Guide!
(Mister Ed!) Stay in bed!
(What they wish!) Satellite dish!
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)

They're big fans o' reruns of "Bonanza"
and Andy Griffith, watching TV Land
and Regis hosting "Millionaire"
and old cartoons of Yogi Bear.
(Millionaire!) Yogi Bear!
(Justin's bride!) TV Guide!
(Mister Ed!) Stay in bed!
(What they wish!) Satellite dish!
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)

Al 'n' Yetta watched a doubleheada.
The Cubs played the Dodgers on ESPN.
They love watching "CSI"
and "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy!"
(CSI!) For Straight Guy!
(Millionaire!) Yogi Bear!
(Justin's bride!) TV Guide!
(Mister Ed!) Stay in bed!
(What they wish!) Satellite dish!
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)

Al gets wrinkly, missing David Brinkley
and Walter Cronkite on the evening news!
He'd rather not watch CBS
or Tim Russert on "Meet the Press"!
(CBS!) Meet the Press!
(CSI!) For Straight Guy!
(Millionaire!) Yogi Bear!
(Justin's bride!) TV Guide!
(Mister Ed!) Stay in bed!
(What they wish!) Satellite dish!
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)

Al 'n' Yetta watched an operetta.
Itzhak Perlman told them what they saw.
They both shouted, "Thanks, Itzhak!"
Then saw reruns of "Matlock!"
(Thanks Itzhak!) Old Matlock!
(CBS!) Meet the Press!
(CSI!) For Straight Guy!
(Millionaire!) Yogi Bear!
(Justin's bride!) TV Guide!
(Mister Ed!) Stay in bed!
(What they wish!) Satellite dish!
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)

Al told Yetta something that upsetta.
He said, "Dear, our TV set is broke."
(drumroll)
Yetta answered, "Whoa is me!
For tonight we shall not see..."

(starts slow and gets faster)

(Thanks Itzhak!) Old Matlock!
(CBS!) Meet the Press!
(CSI!) For Straight Guy!
(Millionaire!) Yogi Bear!
(Justin's bride!) TV Guide!
(Mister Ed!) Stay in bed!
(What they wish!) Satellite dish!

(slower)
(Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa!)
Al 'n' Yetta's television set!

Just a mere 5-5-5...but you should get 10-10-10 ( will this thing let me vote twice?) A wonderful homage to the Great One...and I don't mean Gleason. I've been thinking about doing another Sherman piece...but since all Sherman pieces are based on regular songs..you can just say that you are using the original..but a great tribute to a great and wonderful man (I still get misty when I hear the Harpo Marx/Allen Sherman story). A lot of work went into this...thanks for doing it and thanks for sharing it!
