The Lyrics

youtube

This is inspired by the classic 1943 monster movie "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man."
(The Wolf Man sings:)

Hello Monstah, hello Frankie
I can tell you're kinda cranky
People deem us unexciting
But they say they'll have some fun when we start fighting.

Now our movies don't sell tickets
In the bijou you hear crickets
So they team us in these rallies
And we fight, although you'd think we should be pallies.

Guess the writers got a brainstorm
We'd go at it in a rainstorm
In this creepy, dingy castle
It's a fixer-upper, but who needs the hassle?

What a kooky double-billah
Teaming me with a gorilla
Straps are breaking, you start mauling
Is it me, or do I hear my muddah calling?

Frank-en-stein, don't take this wrong
But I'm inclined, to think you're stronger
Than a wolf, I really might get harmed
So don't you think I should be armed?

Frank-en-stein, I'd estimate
You're six foot nine, that's really great
But I would need, a black belt in kung fu
To beat a moose like you

I'm enjoying this new caper
As you crumple me like paper
Meanwhile I will try to bite you
If I only had some matches I'd ignite you.

Wait a minute, what's that splashing
In between the lightning flashing
Seems a sudden flood has killed us
This is worse than when the bastards second-billed us.

Yeah, those old B & W horror films were the best, weren't they? Good subject, well done

Thanks! Yeah, I grew up with them and now I watch them all the time on DVD.

Jason vs Freddy, Aliens vs Predators, Conservatives vs Liberals, it's all scary I'd say...

Halloween came early this year for Porfle! I'm not one to judge though (I write a bunch of Halloween themed parodies because they're just fun to write and I'm a horror movie fan). This one was just fantastic!

Monster-sized thanks!

Kramer vs Kramer - Good one! And check out yesterdays Bizarro cartoon about Frankenstein vs The Werewolf (don't know how long the link will work though):

That reminds me of the joke in "Young Frankenstein"--"Werewolf!" "There, wolf." "What?" "There, wolf. There, castle." "Why are you talking like that?" "I don't know, I thought you wanted to."

You mean FRONKENSTEEN, right? Fun parody, Porf. The couplets that opened the first 4 stanzas were my favorite. Good use of the original.

(SOTM) Interesting take on the "classic monsters fight each other" sub-genre. Liked the ending. 555!

Thanks! Interesting thing about the ending in the actual movie--in the last shot of the Monster, the stunt man (standing in for an aging Bela Lugosi) can be seen wearing regular loafers instead of those familiar asphalt spreader's boots.

SOTM...totally made me smile...=)

Nice idea, nicely executed, however the original song is funnier to me. Nice job though!

Oh gosh this had good start and went downhill after Frank-en-stein , don't take this wrong . Author should sing it and edit what doesnt make sense before posting.

Funny response. I think 'anon' may have missed the change to what pop writers call the 'middle eight' and became confused with the rhythm. I just tried it against the recording and it worked fine. Good job.
Btw, it would have been good form to indicate where the original music came from: Honcare Ponchielli 'Dance of the Hours' from La Giaconda. Of course it was popularized by Disney's 'Fantasia' in one of my all-time favorite cartoon sequences, the hippopotamus-crocodile ballet.
lifeliver - September 02, 2012 - Report this comment
Begging your pardon, that should be 'AMILcare Ponchielli. My pretensions are showing, how embarrassment!
Porfle Popnecker - September 02, 2012 - Report this comment
I think his friends just called him "Ponch"! Yeah, I kinda figured Anon just missed the change, too. No biggie. Thanks for the comments!
