The Lyrics

Just got back from mowing John Barry's lawn, and here's how it went down. I couldn't think of something for "Toro," so I went with another brand of mower. Could also have gone with "Snapper."
Had the most wonderful time with John Deere!
With the blades of grass growing
the lawn's overflowing
but their end is near!
Had the most wonderful time with John Deere!

It's the snazz, snazziest mower of all!
With its blades deeply cutting
the growth I'm rebutting
the grass clippings fall!
It's the snazz, snazziest mower of all!

There'll be bags for the clippings
and lemonade sipping
when all of this mowing is done!
There'll be scary lawn stories
and tales of the glories
of TurfBuilder, Scotts' Number 1!

Had the most wonderful time with John Deere!
With my earphones and goggles
the mind, it just boggles
the lawn is now clear!
Had the most wonderful time with John Deere!

(instrumental break)

(There'll be bags for the clippings
and lemonade sipping
when all of this mowing is done!)
There'll be scary lawn stories
and tales of the glories
of TurfBuilder, Scotts' Number 1!

Had the most wonderful time with John Deere!
With my earphones and goggles
the mind, it just boggles
the lawn is now clear!
Had the most wonderful time!
Had the most wonderful time!
Had the most wonderful time with John Deere!
Let's see, at a national minimum wage of $5.05 an hour, times the 36 hours it actually took me to mow John's monstrous green growth... That'll be $181.80, please.

I probably love this more than I should...especially considering how much I hate mowing the lawn. But then...I don't have a riding mower.

Anyway...one of the many ways (it'd be impossible for me to choose just one, after all) to my heart is through Christmas music. Honestly. It's a passion of mine. And this...was FABulous. You can come be my lawn boy anytime, Michael...=)

As long as you wear lawnmowing gear as worn by Eva Longoria. (And she's only my second-favorite DH: Longtime Teri Hatcher fan.)

Nice entertainment. But my how things differ geographically. When I think of John Deere, it's the hack-hack-hack of an eight foot tall poppin' Johnny, hard work, long days and rows, and sweat. But then common to Brooklyn, we don't have lawns. The traffic of dogs, chickens, and barefoot chillin' prohibit the growth of vegetation anywhere near the hoose.
