The Lyrics

"Me Tarzan, you Jane"? Hah! Don't believe the Hollywood hype -- in reality, the big guy wasn't anywhere near that articulate or smooth with the ladies...
Tall and tan... and short and ugly:
The girl and chimpanzee, they go walkin'
Tarzan is stalkin' and sees them walk and says... "ug"
He don't talk, just eats bananas and
Swings and drools and prays intently that
When they pass, he can spot her ass and say... "ug"

Oh, Tarzan wants her so badly
Each day, he swings high above her
He would approach her, but sadly
Every day as she walks through the trees,
She flirts with that damned chimpanzee!

Tall and tan... and short and ugly:
The girl and chimpanzee, they go walkin'
But would she walk down the aisle
With a chimpanzee?
_____

Tall and tan... and short and ugly:
The girl and chimpanzee keep on walkin'
Tarzan keeps stalkin', he likes her walk -- he says... "ug"
As he swings, he eats bananas and
Drinks and drools and prays intently that
When they pass, he can spot her ass and say... "ug"

Jane... she looks great in a loincloth
Oh, she would make such a prime mate,
If it came down to a coin toss,
And poor Tarzan got down on his knees,
Would Jane give up her chimpanzee?

Tall and tan... and tall and hairy:
Someday, Tarzan and Jane will go walkin'
And as Jane's talkin', Tarzan will walk and say... "ug"
He won't get much past "ug"
He might get up to "bug"...
(Oh, that big hairy lug...)

Leo, an interesting twist; I don't know some of the originals you write to, but I know this one.

"Prime mate"...best Tarzan pun since I said he was "Back On the Jane Bang." (Yes, another shameless plug for one of my own parodies!)

On Frank Skinner's series 'Shane', he asked why the chimp's name was Cheetah. Nobody had a clue. I assume it was because he was cheating with Jane now. Well done!

I only know, like, seven notes of the original, but I like this nonetheless. Especially Loincloth/coin toss, and, of course, prime mate.

(ABC) - Great job, Leo. I guess my age shows a bit here when I tell you I remember the original quite well. You really nailed the pace and feel of that song here. Ahh...the old "eternal triangle", man, girl, chimpanzee. And just like in the Old West somebody (or something) always ends up swinging from a tree when it's all over. 5-5-5 and a strong contender in the "G" round.

Whoa, all these new comments! Forgive me for not thanking you individually -- your comments are all very much appreciated! (Geez, ya gotta love how those ABC competitions bring new eyes to your stuff!) Thanks for the warm interest in a brazilian jazz tune of all things!

DKTOS but hilarious nonetheless, I tried picturing a film clip as I went along, but Robin Wiliams kept popping up for some reason. , DI-VINE puns too, Leo.
