Parody Song Title:

"Radar O'Reilly"

Parody Written by:

Claude Prez

The Lyrics

Ah, look at all the moaning people
Ah, puke on all the moaning people

Radar O'Reilly
Perks up his ears and announces that choppers are near
Nobody hears

Incoming wounded
Trapper and Hawkeye are blitzed to the gills as they hack
They're gonna yack

All the moaning people
What DOES this dumb war mean?
All the moaning people
Where DID I put that spleen?

Father Mulcahy
Prays his career will not end when the series has passed
He'll be typecast

Talked to his agent
"Murder, She Wrote" needs a mick priest the old broad can catch
Know it's a stretch

All the moaning people
Talked TO the network stooge
All the moaning people
The SPINoff will be huge

Ah, ignore all the moaning people
AAAAAHHH!!! Scream out all the moaning people

Corporal Klinger
Wearing a dress so they'll think he is nuts that's his con
It's blue chiffon

What was he thinking?
Queening around with drunk surgeons all desperate as hell
Don't ask don't tell

All the moaning people
What HAPPened to that cast?
All the moaning people
How LONG did that war last?

Never thought about it, but I guess it was kind of a Gilligan's Island in a war setting. Great job, Claude!

Rock the M.A.S.H.-stars! Rock the M.A.S.H.-stars! And you did. Good job!

It was a smash! This parody of M*A*S*H!

Great parody. I have noticed that Gary Burghoff fell off the Radar screen after MASH ended in 1983

Nice job. BTW, there were two actors who appeared in both the movie and the TV show - who were they?

Great job - too bad that 'Major Frank Burns' doesn't have one more syllable:

Major Frank Burns Wondering whether the virtue of Hot Lips was saved That's what he craved

Robert, those actors were Gary Burghof (Radar) and William Christopher (Father Father Mulcahy).

Claude, this was a real MASHterpiece. Nice work.

After I saw the title, I wondered how this song hasn't been done before...it just sounds so obvious. But really good job, Claude.

The war lasted 3 years, the series 11...wow, I guess no one told them the war ended....... anyway, the Actor who played Father Mulcaty was different in the movie than the show...

Billy - You are right about Mulcahy. Mulcahy was played by Rene Auberjonois. Auberjonois also played Odo on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. I think actor number two who played on both Mash the movie and Mash the TV show was Sal Viscuso who played the PA announcer on both the movie and the TV show. So the answer to Robert's question is Gary Burghof and Sal Viscuso.

All the funny comments are taken, so I simply say great work!

I like this parody--and "MASH" Hated "AfterMASH"!

Guy, I was looking for your first answer. If you're right on the PA guy, that's three. I didn't say they played the same parts. One of us will have to look into PA guy. Remember, my question was: "there were two ACTORS who appeared in both the movie and the TV show - who were they?"

I have often thought of doing a Who parody called "Radar O'Reilly" ("TV WASTELAND! ONLY TV WASTELAND!") but I decided it was't worth the effort. This was, though.
