Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Barak Obama, holds a Senate seat,
Wonder if he'll manage to get Hill beat?
Who funds him money? Who's he represent?
What he do with money that Norman sent?

Doomsday may arrive he got the briefcase,
One day warning nukes he would shoot none.
Some way he must learn to fly his chief race,
See how Dick runs?

Barak Obama, baby Senate jest,
Wonder who he'll upstage to beat the rest?
Seek now more funds.

Barak Obama, trying to be head,
Listen what the people saying, he's not read.

News day afternoons they really rock us,
Sunday morning papers show who won.
Wars they fight; who got the biggest caucus?
That's how they run.

Barak Obama, keep your Senate seat,
Underdog advantage only gets you beat.

His name is Barack, not Barak.

It's hard to write a politcal parody without seeming like you're bashing the guy, but this one was pretty neutral. Nice work. 555
I was gonna make an insensitive joke about the size of his caucus, but I'll leave it alone...

As always, good pacing. It WAS very neutral. 5's

Great parody while avoiding obvious "cheap shots" you could have taken. Hey Guy, as fate would have it I'm going to see Barack today at 5 PM in Manchester NH. I'll bring your lyrics along and see if I can get him to review them.
alvin - December 19, 2007 - Report this comment
masterfully written
John Barry - December 19, 2007 - Report this comment
Neutral but good. I'm a cheap-shots guy myself. IB, going to Manchester? You must live in the area. I lived in Keene for many years, ayup.

Officer Spelling - oK - So you did C that I, missed the C, see? I'm a little bit lysdectic. My apologies to the Senator from Illinois for misspelling his name. Can you just give me a warning ticket this time? It's so close to Christmas and I'm strapped for cash. I will drive my computer more carefully in the future. Merry Christmas, officer.

McKludge - This was written about two weeks ago. I didn't have anything better to post for today, but promise tomorrow will be a hum dinger. Thanks.

Pat - I hope my writing has become more seasoned after my 2 1/2 year absence. Neutrality was the top prioroty on this one. Thanks.

IB - You will rock my world if the Senator actually sees this. Tell him I'm sorry about the misspelling of his name. I am sure you will relate if you are successful. Use my comments section all you want to chat. I love comments. THANKS!

Alvin - Very kind comment - Thanks buddy!

Sir John - I've been known to do some cheap shots and then some. Been trying to clean up my act but that does not mean that I won't do a rope trick on something or someone someday. Just not today. Thanks!

I won't say who I'll be voting for next year, but I will say that this is a wonderfully written parody. I also liked how you rhymed some of the lines along with those of the OS; it was fun to read. 5-5-5 is what I vote on this parody.

Pretty good stuff, Guy, although not nearly abrasive enough for a parody in the political arena. But it's really too early to start beating each other silly over this stuff, so maybe neutrality isn't such a bad idea. Me? I've been keeping my political pieces locked up safe on my PC hard-drive at home. Haven't really written any in a few months anyway. But once the nominations are settled the gloves are likely to come off. 5's here ~ ~ ~

Who got the biggest caucus? What do you think? I'm a black man. But then again you never know what Hill may have up her skirt. Hmmm Caucus size, caucus size. Oh, I know - Google.

Pretty good stuff. 5-4-5.
Guy - February 10, 2008 - Report this comment
Thanks Melanie - I used to write a lot more political stuff, but as of late there are really only two that I have done since returning to the site in late September. There are so many other things to do.

Heard your song played on Rush today -- too funny! I was hoping to find the audio on you tube but no such luck. Anyone got a link to the audio of this jewel???
Guy - February 19, 2008 - Report this comment
If this parody played on the Rush show today it is news to me. Are you sure that you heard this one and not something else? Has anyone heard anything about what Graab is stating? I've ben searching the web and so far I have come up zip. ANYONE???

Although I am somewhat sympathetic to Mr. Limbaugh, I don't listen to him. But I do enjoy reading good parodies, which this one is. Funny without being too positive or negative. Great job with the "rock us/caucus" verse.

I like it! I guess I had the idea a bit too late, hehehe.
