The Lyrics

The author's plaint, from which AmIRight appears to be the last bastion of refuge.
Folks
Don't care what words they say
That's how it does appear to me
Just look
In news-pap-ers today
Mistakes that bring a tear to me

This land
Has lost its grammar
Morons just grunt and stammer now, my God!
I'd like
To teach them how to speak
Yes, I could show them how, by God!

Talk
In pro-per-ly used words
In prose that will enthrall to me
And if
You find youself in doubt
I'm here if you should call to me

They think
It makes no dif-fer-ence
Whatever words they say...............
It's only words, but culture follows soon, when language goes away

It's only words, but culture follows soon, when language goes away

It's only words
But culture follows soon
When language goes away.........

Johnny D, go for it (please note TT's practice of citing other authors/parodies when spinning off COUGH! COUGH!)... John B, amen... he's sort of the culmination and end result of this trend among the voters. (Should they bring back literacy tests? Guess AIR could elect the Prezes heh heh!)... alvin, thanks; glad you're not songless; would hated to have missed "Genuflect".... Rick, thanks.

Good Grammer, there, Billy...er, I mean Tommy... don't believe I stammer too much with grammar, or have friction with diction, but I know I miss the station, a lot, on punctuation...

AFW, if the shoe Fitz, wear it, but you're as clever as ever and one fun son of a pun, so way to run, AFOne.

Oops, speaking of slip-ups (mis-flip-ups?), of course I meant AFWon.

Larry, thanks. Try 3w.lyricsfreak.com/b/bee-gees/15661.html. I'm going to try to put links to OS lyrics in all parodies. I know it's not the same as knowing the tune, but it might help.

Here here! This is not a mute point. :-) Enjoyed this!

Rex: Thanks for the read. TT is rarely mute lol! (of course, you made a typo for "moot" - not such a good typist myself, with these flippers.) Thanks for v/c, Rex!

Very timely, since the web has expanded the number of 'reporters' who wouldn't know an adjective from an adverb. Sigh. Makes you want to bludgeon the offenders with a copy of "Elements of Style."

WarrenB: Thanks for the surprise visit to this, posted on the n00b turtle's 12th day on site. (On the 12th day of Am'Right, the turtle gave to see -- two turtle doves, which is an even weirder mating than turtle/ewes :)

btw, adverbs seem to be disappearing from the language, slow but sure. :-D

"It's only words, but culture follows soon, when language goes away". Lamentably true. Good work TT
