Song Parodies -> "We're Al Qaeda, We're #1"

Original Song Title:

"I Fought The Law"

Original Performer:

Bobby Fuller

Parody Song Title:

"We're Al Qaeda, We're #1"

Parody Written by:

Darrell Wilhelm

The Lyrics

This is probably my best parody since "Skoda", according to various acquaintances, and the Marines, Green Berets, Navy SEALs and the Airborne Divisions are all tied for #1 in my opinion. This parody should be sung with a voice like that of either would-be "shoe bomber" Richard Reed or in one like that of "American Taliban" John Walker Lindh.
Toiling away in the Arabian sun
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1
We hate America 'cause we're better
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1

We hate America 'cause they're so bad
Bin Laden's still on the run
Well, he's the best leader that we've ever had
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1

Bombing the West with airplanes
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1

We hate America 'cause they're so bad
Bin Laden's still on the run
Well, he's the best leader we've ever had
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1
We're Al Qaeda, we're #1
NOTE: Darrell Gordon Wilhelm is not, was never and never will be a member of Al Qaeda, the Taliban, any other terrorist organization and will never support a group that funds terrorism, such as the Bush White House or the Grand Ole Party (Republicans).

I don't know the OS. . .but it's so short and repetitive that it took three reads just to see that you were being sarcastic portraying an Al-Qaeda supporter. . .no vote--you should choose more difficult songs.

The title grabbed my attention, which is good, but this needs a lot of work IMO, Darrell. You're missing a verse, "better" and "airplanes" are seriously misrhymed to the lines that follow them, the 3rd and 6th stanzas are not the same and this could have used variation in the title line. Speaking of that, it has the correct number of syllables, but the line shape and emphasis don't match the original very well :

I/FOUGHT/the/LAW/and/the..../LAW/WON

WE'RE/al/QAE/da/WE'RE/NUM.../ber/ONE

Not to say the pacing is impossible - maybe singing this with a 'terrorist' voice would make it work... stranger things have happened, but as a free read and karaoke to the original... well, 333.

I read the parody, not saying that it's the worst thing that I've ever heard, but the title was the only thing that actually took my whole attention span. Some of the words are misrhymed 'better' 'airplanes'(as mentioned before), but it's not a really bad song or anything. 4's

I revised my lyrics, and it should now be sung with "Planes into the Trade Center" rather than "Bombing the West with airplanes".

If you really wanted to do a good parody with this, you should have just had someone singing the original Bobbie Fuller lyrics in the voice of Osama, with maybe some minor modifications.
