Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This is what can happen when you horse around with guns ... :-)
“I Fought McGraw”

(I was the) Arcade king with a … toy gun --
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!

(I was) Sure I could outdraw a … stallion --
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!

“Tho’ I’m only a horse without hands, just a hoof,”
That equine warned me, “Son,
A shootout with me’d be a terminal goof!”
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!

[musical interlude]

(I) Thought I was somethin' with a …. six-gun --
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!

By a horse and hubris I was ... outdone --
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!

(He was) Defter than Dillon who was Dodge’s law,
Quick as Cooper 'neath the High Noon sun.
Even hired-gun Paladin he could outdraw --
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!
I fought McGraw and McGraw won!
© Stan Hall Sometimes I 'm glad I'm old! "Quick Draw McGraw" was every bit as super-duper as Gary Cooper. :-) Credit where credit's due dep't: Alvin R. gets a nod for this one -- once his delightful recent spin on "Mr. Ed" had put horses in my head, Quick Draw just blew away ideas for this song I'd already toyed with in relation to such other meritable McGraws as film noir legend, Charles McGraw, erstwhile Phillies mound great, Tug McGraw, and long-time Orioles/Giants managerial marvel, John McGraw.

hey bablooey, that was some queek thinkin'...haven't seen that cartoon in years but remember it fondly...if all horses carried guns, we wouldn't need cowboys and indians in westerns at all...glad to inspire, thanks for the nod

"Hold on thar!" How can you write a parody about Quick Draw and not include his tagline? But you totally hit the target, partly by misdirecting me: I thought it was gonna be about Britney fighting Dr. Phil!
