The Lyrics

This one is dedicated to David Chrenko. We use to play this a lot. We have an Amiright musical tribute at an MP3 site linked below.
Relatives just are ...not fun
I fought your ma and your ... ma won
I fought your ma and your ... ma won

I wanted peace but I ... got none
I fought your ma and your ... ma won
I fought your ma and your ... ma won

I joined your fam'ly and they're losers all
I don't know when to run
To not get stabbed my back's
To the wall
I fought your ma and your ... ma won
I fought your ma and your ... ma won

(Instrumental Break with yelling and fighting)

Watchin' Daddy down that (glug glug glug glug glug glug)
Six-pack
I fought your ma and your ... ma won
I fought your ma and your ... ma won

Granny smoking with that...hack! hack!
I fought your ma and your ... ma won
I fought your ma and your ... ma won

Your aunt is having one more screamin' fit
Your uncle is a bum
Another Christmas
To dish the s##t
I fought your ma and your ... ma won
I fought your ma and your ... ma won

I fought your ma and your ... ma won
I fought your ma and your ... ma won

Hey I rteally like this one. Why do inlaws like to act like outlaws?
Johnny D - December 21, 2003 - Report this comment
Even outlaws have inlaws. I have no idea what I just wrote.

Funny stuff! I especially liked the "glug" sounds subbing for the gunshots - funny and maybe just a tad Spike Jones -lol!

This is awesome! I just got back from traveling and heard this song in the car... trying to think of something good... but came up with nothing like this! Very seasonally appropriate, I might add!

Rick, I just listened to your tribute with my Dad, it was excellent! Hearing those songs live added a totally different perspective, songs I hadn't even noticed before came alive! Thank you for including one of mine ;-). Of course, it inevitably raised some questions about my debt status....

Singing them is very different, as you will find out. I had to change or drop a word here and there. What looks fine on the page is sometimes tricky or hard to understand when you sing it. I did the first guitar part in one take with no edits. That's why I picked all songs that I already knew.

Rick D - Liked the verbal parody. 5-5-5, have to check out the site version when I have sound sometime down the road. Making a note to look back at this one.

Really funny, Rick - The best parody I've seen on I Fought The Law. I think just about everyone was imagining the scene (or replaying the scene) while they were reading it. "I'm rating Ricky with-a Six Ones" - but Chuck will only let me give you 5's.
