The Lyrics

As far as I know, the U.S. Mint is not planning on altering the dime in any way -- too bad for those bozos who want to replace FDR on the dime, and Alexander Hamilton on the ten-dollar bill, with Ronald Reagan -- but except for the one-dollar bill, just about every other piece of currency we have has either been altered in the last few years, or is scheduled to be altered in the next couple of years.
Come gather 'round, people, wherever you roam
and admit that your taste for new money has grown
and accept this new offer, by internet or phone
'cause the money you shouldn't be savin'
'cause to get these new coins you'll have to get a loan
for the dimes, they are a-changin'.

Come printers who made up each paperish bill.
You've changed them before, and you're changin' 'em still.
Poor old Andy Jackson, he's been through the mill
and Alexander Hamilton is strainin'.
It's the counterfeit business that we've got to kill
and the dimes, they are a-changin'.

Come minters in Philly, and in Denver, too.
You're makin' State quarters for Red, White & Blue.
And the President dollar coins, they're released new.
In the pockets, these coins are a-janglin'.
And we messed up the nickels for Lewis & Clark, true.
And the dimes, they are a-changin'.

Come numismatismos, throughout the land.
I know why we change them, you can't understand.
Bicentennial for Lincoln, new design command.
So for Abe, the penny we're rearrangin'.
You might not like the new one, but you'll still have to spend.
And the dimes, they are a-changin'.

The battles we've fought, from the first war to last
will be on the ten-cent pieces soon to be cast.
From Lexington, all the way back in our past
to the surge that's now in Iraq fadin'.
Can't replace FDR with Reagan, you'd be aghast
but the dimes, they are a-changin'!

Hey - I'm selling dimes. 15 cents each or 2 for a quarter. Want to buy some dimes before they're changin? 5 dimes and the votes I'm not a changin.

You've coined a mint parody. Extra credit for numismatismos.

Mediocre parodies are a dime a dozen. Fine parodies like this one (even though it undervalues Ronald Reagan) deserve 555 dimes.

I agree with you wholeheartedly with your hatred of the idea of replacing FDR (my favorite President) with the Gipper on the dime and $10 bill, and your loathing has a reason behind it- because Reagan was the worst president until "King George" came around. 10 cents x 555= $55.50, so 555 dimes in a canvas "Swag Bag" for you!
